"Hey," Keenan says putting his stuff down on the library table and sitting down in the chair. "I didnt think you'd tutor me after what happened in the cafeteria."

Corey smiles, "It's all good. I'm not gonna let that stop me from doing me." He says giving Keenan dap.

"True. So what was that all about anyway? Who was that girl?" Keenan wonders. She was pretty but those cute looks fooled him real quick when she turned around and attacked Sevyn.

"My crazy ex-girlfriend." Corey responds shaking his head.

"And how did Sevyn tie into that?" From what Keenan remembers, that girl attacked Sevyn more than Corey.

Corey decides not to talk about it with Keenan. Just because he's tutoring him doesn't mean they're good friends again. Keenan came to Corey last week practically begging him to tutor him in math, he was even willing to pay money each time. But being the good person he is, Corey agreed to tutor him without expecting money in return.

"So what are we working on today?" Corey asks.

"Whatever this worksheet is, it's all just a blur to me." Keenan pulls out the homework that his math teacher assigned today. He took one glance at it and confirmed he could do maybe 8 out of the 20 questions. Corey glances it over and remembers doing the same work sheet from last year.

"Oh this is easy," he says picking up his pencil.

Keenan scoffs, "Easy for you to say. You took it last year and most likely passed with an A, right?" He asks and Corey gives him a smile. "Exactly. Speaking of school what colleges you looking into?"

Keenan knows that Corey isn't looking to rekindle their friendship but it feels nice just talking to him again. Other than the minor conversations with classmates, he hasn't had any one close enough to call a friend or at least an acquaintance to have a chill conversation with. He has Aubrey but he needs some guy time.

"I've applied to a few outta state, I've also applied to Uconn but my first choice is Brown." Corey tells him.

"Nice, I've started looking into colleges too and at first I was planning to go out of state but,I've got a kid on the way." Keenan says and Corey nods his head in understanding. "Sounds like online courses and a part time job is in my future."

"Family first right?" Corey asks.

Keenan nods his head thinking about his unborn daughter, "Yeah," he sighs, then snaps out of his trance. "Alright now help me with this stuff cuz I have no idea what I'm doing."

Corey chuckles and positions the paper so both of them can see it. "Alright, here's how you start..."

By the time Corey is done tutoring Keenan it's going on seven o'clock. He doesn't want to go home but he doesn't really have any other options on a school night. So he takes the long way back to the apartment, dreading what's possibly waiting for him there.

When he pulls up to the apartment and parks in the lot, he doesn't see Raymond's car anywhere. He lets out a sigh of relief, hoping that there's a chance that Rachel didnt tell her father that Corey dumped her yet. He gets out of his car and closes the door as gently as he can, still cautious not to make too much noise. He walks across the gravel parking lot to the door and slowly climbs the stairs, getting close and closer to his expected death. The way Rachel was going off in the cafeteria, he knows Raymond is going to kill him. Or at least try his best to.

He unlocks the door and cautiously listens for the sound of voices. He doesn't hear anything, not even noise from the tv in the living room. He closes the door and locks it, stepping further into the dark kitchen. He walks through it and goes into the living room just to find it empty too. He's relieved that the house is quiet for once, giving off a sense of peace compared to his crazy day.
