They Don't Know (BOOK TWO)

Chapter 45

The party runs smoothly with good music playing and everyone talking and mingling. Aubrey is enjoying herself, smiling and laughing with everyone that's in attendance. Keenan if relieved that his family is so accepting with her, even the ones who haven't had a chance to meet her yet. They welcome her into the family easily, complimenting her and conversing about baby plans. Aubrey's family is equally as accepting. Her cousin Tammy even grilled Keenan that if he hurt her she would break his neck and scoop out his organs with a shovel. She definitely scares him but he respects how protective she is of her little cousin.

 "You brave though man, if a girl told me she was pregnant I'd probably shave my head and go into hiding. I can barely clean up my room but then I got take care of and clean up after a baby too. You got balls bruh," Aubrey's cousin Trevor says.

 "This coming from the same nigga that tried to flirt with Aubrey when he first met her cuz he didnt know they were cousins." Her other cousin Dante blurts out then starts laughing. Keenan forces his self to swallow his Sprite before he starts laughing and choking.

 Embarrassment takes over Trevor's face, "I told you never to bring that up again." He mumbles. Dante and Keenan continue laughing at his expense and he sits there flipping his phone back and forth between his hands.

Aubrey comes over and sits in Keenan's lap, she looks at Dante who starts laughing even harder and Trevor who won't look her in the eye. She turns her head to Keenan, "What's going on?"

 "They were just telling me a little story thats all." Keenan chuckles, saving Trevor anymore embarrassment.

 "Mhm," Aubrey says suspiciously.

 "Can I join the party?" Aubrey and Keenan turn around and see Corey standing behind them. Aubrey's eyebrows raise as Keenan daps Corey. "Hey, I'm glad you could make it." Keenan says.

 "Sorry for being late, I just got off work." Corey says, hoping he doesnt smell like icing again. His amber eyes slide over to Aubrey and he smiles a little bit. "Good seeing you Aubrey, you look gorgeous." He leans over Keenan's shoulder to hug her.

 Aubrey is still surprised that he even showed up. "Wow, thanks." She beams. Corey nods and gives a warm smile to her cousins.

 "Dough boy!" Sevyn calls, waving her hand. He nods towards them before nodding to Keenan and walking away.

 "This whole party is amazing, the decorations, the music. You did a good job, and your mom is a great cook." Aubrey gushes.

 "Thanks but it's not over just yet." Keenan says. Aubrey gives him a confused look and he gently slides her out his lap and stands up. He takes her hand and leads her across the room to a chair set up in the corner of the room. It has a silk sheet over it and a big pink bow on the back. Victoria walks over and places a "Mom To Be" sash across Aubrey's chest along with a little tiara. Aubrey smiles down at the sash then looks back at Keenan. Victoria hands him a mic before turning to the DJ and signaling at him. The music slowly fades so that it's just a small hum in the background and Keenan raises the mic to his mouth.

 "Excuse me everyone," He speaks into it. The room slowly quiets down and everyone turns to look in their direction. Keenan smiles a little nervously. "Thank you all for coming out to Aubrey's babyshower, it means alot to us and our little girl. I want Aubrey to start opening her gifts now but first, I have a little present of my own for her."

 A soft beat starts playing through the speakers and gets noticeably louder as the DJ turns up the music. Keenan faces Aubrey and takes a deep breath.

"I got a big heart but it always beat quiet

you made me feel small like i was going on a diet.
