This morning all of the boys and girls attending Hogwarts ran through the secret platform only wizards and witches can access. None of the schoolboys and schoolgirls knew what was waiting for them, what they were going to discover on the other side off this wall, after the train ride, after they left school. Sirius Black, James Potter, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew were all heading to Hogwarts this year. With many others joining them. They boarded the train not having any friends. Remus was extremely nervous and so was Peter. James and Sirius seemed to be some of the only confident people on the train.
Remus acquired many stares as he walked along the hallway trying to find an empty compartment or one with very few people in. Sirius had nabbed a compartment as soon as he boarded the train. James had just found him as he was looking to find the raven haired boy that had intrigued him. He saw him on the platform and wanted to be friends.
"Hey, can I sit in here?" James said to Sirius.
"Sure, I'm Sirius Black. What's your name then?" Sirius replied smiling as James started putting his trunk up on the railings above their heads
"I'm James, James Potter"
Sirius and James started talking and they could tell that they had both found a friend. It felt like they had known each other for all their lives. A ragged looking boy with scars on his face asked timidly if he could come sit with them
"Of course, come sit down" Sirius said eagerly. They started the befriending process with him just as a fight broke out. James peered out of their compartment and what he saw shocked him. It was a 3 v 1 fight. The boy who was being yelled at by two boys and one feirce looking girl looked terrified.
"Hey, HEY, leave him alone!" cried James while putting his arm around the shy boy, leading him into their carriage.
The conversation started up again and talk turned to houses and which one they would like to be in.
"I don't really know to be honest, I don't mind" Peter muttered and Remus agreed
"I want to be in Gryffindor" James said proudly "I definitely DON'T want to be in be in Slytherin, everyone in that house is evil!!"
"My family want me to be in Slytherin and they want me to be just like them and be evil." Sirius' words got quicker. "I asked them what they would do if i was in any other house and then they they got m m mad and and.. a"
James engulfed sirius in a hug and only then did Sirius realize he was crying.
"You'll be fine, I promise, your not evil." James soothed, "We should get changed into our robes, Just stick with me."
Remus and Peter both looked uncomfortable but James and Sirius knew they had met their best friend. They got into a boat with a half-giant called Hagrid and sailed across the great lake. They were getting prepared for the sorting.
