19. Train Time Xxx

James' PoV

I got on the scarlet train and raced towards our carriage, it was a maurader tradition to sit in the same conpartment each year. Ever since the first ride to Hogwarts to now. Kind of scary to think that we only have one more year left and then were allowed to use magic outside of Hogwarts.

Me and Sirius got there first as were both fast runners. Probably from all the Quiddich and Quiddich training. Remus came in about 10 seconds later, panting heavily. Peter, as usual, came in last barely breathing. His face was bright red, making him look a tomato wearing a blonde wig. Quite hilarious really.

I helped wormy put his trunk up on the shelf and sat down, flopping ungracefully. I took out a bag of leaping lollies and offered them around. They were bubble gum flavour, you put them in you mouth, they jumped around and then if you bit them, which was suprisingly hard to do, they calmed down and you would actually eat them

The whistle blew, signalling we were going, me and Padfoot looked at each other, mischief radiating of off our smiles and bright eyes.

"WOOOOOOO!!! WHOOOOO!! YEAH!!" We screamed while standing up and clapping our hands in a very un-rhythmic pattern.  Padfoot and I never bother with ties, and if we do they are very loose. We pulled our shirts over our heads.

"My abs are so much better" I say smirking at my best mate

"No, mine are definitely better!" Sirius argued back

"Hmmmm, Sure. Where's your V - line? Mine are abs are much more toned" I counter

"Fine! You got me there! But mine are just sexier, they hold a certain air of superiority that your's lack!"

I laughed and looked at Moony, who was looking on at us while shaking his head, however a smile was plastered on his face and a glint of happiness could be found in his blue eyes.

Peter's eyes flicked towards the door, where a faint laughing sound could be heard. Lily, Marlene and Alice stood at the door, they pushed the wooden door open and let them self in. I went red and rubbed the back of my neck, enficising the muscles in my biceps and forearms. Lily went as red as her hair and her friends exchanged a look before nudging her. The three girls were sent into a peel of giggles.

"Erm, there's nowhere else to sit, can we erm, sit in here?" Lily asked, looking me in her eyes. 

"Sure" They sat down and glanced at each other

"James, Sirius, put your shirts on, I'm sure the girls don't want to see your abs, no matter how sexy you may find them." Remus says looking exasperated.

I laughed and pulled my shirt back on, Padfoot weakly protested but put his shirt back on, grumbling the whole time

"Erm, I need the toilet" Peter stood up and rushed out nervously

"Is he ok?" Alice asks, her voice filled with concern

"Yeah" I answer off handedly, "He's been acting a bit off though, he can't stay over at mine this holiday"

"Does he normally stay at yours?" Lily says as she joins the conversation

"Yeah, all the boys stay over at Potter manor for the last two weeks of the holiday. Well, except for padfoot, he lives with me" I respond

"Yeah, I moved in, fourth year Christmas after things got pretty bad with my monsters I have to call family"

Things fell silent, most people felt awkward and shuffled uncomfortably. 

"How about we play truths?" Marlene asks, with a Marauder worthy smirk

We all agreed and played until the train pulled up to King's cross station

"Um, Lily?" I say

"Yeah" She turns to me and smiles. It's just me and her, everyone else had gone to get their luggage. Remus was with his parents and peter was gone, Padfoot was in the bathroom and that left just us two.

"You can stay at mine if you want. Marlene is going to be there. I asked Alice but obviously she's in France. Just for like the last two weeks. I know how you don't like your sister. It's just a choice, you don't have to come, I would underst-" 

"James, I would love to, just come with me to talk to my parents" She pleads

"Okay" I grab her luggage and carry on holding it until we're off the train. She walks over to parents, I wave to my parents and signal that I'll e there in a minute. Padfoot strolls over to them, confused as to where I was. My parents explained where I was, Sirius looked over at me and gave me a very dramatic win and turned away from me. 

"My parents said yes! Thank you James!" Lily squeals excitedly, she wrapped her arms around my neck and hugged me, she looked at me and then proceeded to kiss my cheek. She went red and then began walking over to her parents, with a small wave.

I walked over to my parents and Sirius, who were growing agitated now. We apperated home and the holidays had finally began
