30. It's here...

James' PoV

While mum and the girls had been out shopping me and the lads had spent our time getting ready. We all had showers and were now sat there in our underwear and we had face masks on.

Sirius being Sirius, naturally he had to go a little but further so he had a hair mask on.

I had a black suit hung up on my door with a white shirt. Remus had a grey suit with white shirt and grey tie. Peter had a navy suit and a light blue shirt with a navy tie to match. Sirius was wearing a white suit with a black silk shirt.

The alarm went off for my mask and I went to the bathroom to wash it off, I moisturised my face and then left, we took turns with Remus being last.

My dad popped in the room and told us that it was going to be starting in half an hour and how we needed to start getting ready. He also mentioned how the girls had been home for over 3 HOURS and we hadn't noticed. They had been getting ready for the past 2 hours. 

We threw on our suits and tried to sort out our hair, Moony's and Wormtail's don't cause much fuss but me and Sirius have a crisis every time there's a social event

I used some of my fathers Sleakeasy's potion and try to tame it a bit. Sirius threw his suit on in record time and had spent the last 20 minutes faffing with his hair.

We sauntered downstairs and started getting some punch. A few people were here but then a massive herd of people came. Sirius and I were ordered to go back upstairs so we could come down the grand staircase for the introduction. 

I here them announce Marlene and Sirius, they went down together. I saw her dress she looked really pretty. I actually like Marlene she's not one of the thots that Sirius normally goes after and then avoids after a night or two

I know that Lily would be waiting at the bottom of the staircase, my parents were called down and the I took my place.

"And now, The heir to the Potter family name... James Potter!"

I walk down the stairs and look around smiling at my aunts and uncles. I see a few of my cousins here and some family friends.

I nearly reach the bottom of the grand staircase and then I see Lily. I stop short and smile at her, gobsmacked. 

I carry on down the stairs but my eyes stayed on Lily, she looked absolutely stunning. She had on red heels, a short red and gold skirt and a tight red and gold cropped top. 

I got to the bottom of the stairs and was forced to talk to some of my relatives. I saw my cousin Hugo and went to go talk to him. He went to Beaubaxtons because he lived in france

"So, that red head? She's single, yeah?" He asks 

"Erm, yeah, but that's Lily... The girl I've liked since first year. No"

"Tough luck, I'm gunna talk to her" He says as he walks off. I glare at his back and try to find Sirius.

I saw him talking to Marlene so I left them to it. I saw Lily and Hugo talking in a corner and then storm off. I find my dad and tell him what Hugo's up to

"James, Lily's not your girl, he has a chance but hes not as good looking as you. You'll be fine" He says 

I huff and nod. I talk to some ministry officials and see Hugo and Lily kissing. I storm over and ask to talk to Hugo. He kissed Lily on the cheek. She won't meet my eyes and looked at her shoes.

Once we got to a deserted corridor I pushed him roughly.

"What was that for?" Hugo asks angrily

"YOU - YOU KISSED HER" I rage

"If you didn't notice, she kissed me back!"

"W- Well you knew I liked her!"

"I can make my own decisions! James! There's nothing between us! You cant dictate my love life!" I hear Lily yell

I turn around and face her, my face softens and I regret my actions

"Did he at least tell you about his girlfriend?" I ask quietly looking at the floor

"What?! I'm done with the both of you!" She stomps off and I shove Hugo before leaving. I go up to my bedroom and strip down into my Calvin Klein's. I throw on some grey joggers and fall asleep on my back

Lily's PoV

I couldn't believe those two boys! I wanted to apologise to James though.Hugo had talked abou him non stop and I wanted to say sorry for him trying to take care of me. It wasn't nessacary but oh well...

I snuck upstairs and changed out of my heels and dress. I put on an oversized burgundy velvet hoodie and put my hair in a messy bun.

I walked into his room. He was layed on his bed on his back. I smiled at him and tip - toed out of his room and into mine. The party was all but over now anyway.

I turned on my side and fell asleep
