"Pain shapes a woman into a warrior." – r.h. sin
|| Kenzie ||     || Boy ||
Kenzie had woken up twice in the middle of the night in agony and pain.
Her chest heaved, as each breath came out in painful rapid pants burning her lungs. She was coated in sweat, her body ached, and shook in coldness. Her mind was all over the place; while her heart thudded so loudly in her chest she was sure it was going to explode any second.
Kenzie felt frozen as time slowed down around her. Excruciating pain shot throughout her as the fear of the unknown erupted within her. Her eyes burned from the unshed tears blurring her vision as darkness seemed to consume her senses.
She was falling deeper underneath the weight of her burdening thoughts into a dark void that was suffocating. As numbness began to take over every inch of her, Kenzie opened her mouth screaming for helping, but the words never seemed to make it out.
Closing her eyes to ease the numbing pain she fell deeper, but before she could go any further two sets of arms wrapped around her pulling her out.
When Kenzie opened her eyes two blurry shadows were engulfing her with the warmth that began to melt away the worries she held. He older siblings, Lainey and Wesley were at her side, but words that were coming out of their mouths were overshadowed by the loud buzzing in her ears. She could only tremble in their arms as they attempted their best to calm her down.
It was another panic attack she would never get used to.
They were all killing her slowly.
Making her fall apart.
Each time, she had one.
Hours passed by when Kenzie finally felt calm, she realized that both her siblings would skip another day of responsibilities just to look after her, and she cursed herself for being such a pain. When the first sign of the sun seeped through her blinds as it made its way to awaken the sky; it was then Kenzie finally felt sleep invading her senses and taking over her body.

It was almost ten in the morning when Kenzie was woken up by the loud ring of her phone. She reached over her side table, wincing as her body still ached in tiredness from the torturous night. Though the number that appeared on her phone was unknown, she answered it anyway and was confronted with a loud greeting that was all too much for her to handle.
"Hello there!"
"Hi?"
"How've you been?"
"Good...?"
"You don't sound too sure."
"I'm sorry, but I think you got the--"
"Wrong number? I don't think so."
"Ohh. Well... um...Is there a reason why your calling?"
"I'm calling to check up on you."
"To check up on me?"
As her drowsiness began to fade Kenzie realized that voice on the other end sounded familiar, one that she had spoken to two days ago, but it couldn't have been.
Or could it?
"Yeah, you didn't sound too good when I called the other night"
"Oh. Wow. Umm... I'm surprised you remembered."
