"It's impossible, said pride

It's risky, said experience.

It's pointless, said reason.

Give it a try, whispered the heart."

|| Kenzie ||    || Miles ||

Was it weird that in the time they had spoken; Kenzie knew more about Miles then she did her parents in the time they had been alive.

She knew he was a sophomore in college.

Was one of six siblings.

Was a football player.

And wanted to become a doctor.

Was it also weird that she had memorized his schedule better than she had her own siblings?

She knew he had Monday and Wednesday, classes.

Wednesdays' were his late days.

She knew he had practice before his first class that started at eight.

She also knew they had a game every other Friday during the football season.

And knew every other game was played home.

And, was it weird that Kenzie wasn't afraid of the way her heart did things only hearing Miles' voice could manage to do so. He made her feel emotions that she hadn't felt in three years, and was it bad she yearned for them from time to time.

Though talking to Miles would make her happier than she had ever be; she didn't expect him to call today of all days, especially at this hour.

"Don't you have a game today?"

"I do."

"Doesn't it start like in fifteen minutes?"

"It does."

"Shouldn't you be out on the field practicing your throws or something?"

"I should."

"Then why are you calling me?"

"Because..."

"Miles." she said sternly

"Hold on coach! It's a family emergency!"

"Seriously Miles! They need you! I'm about to hang--"

"NO! WAIT! I called because..."

"Because what Miles?"

"I needed a pep talk."

"A pep talk?"

"Yes."

"Isn't that what the coach is there for?"

"I think so."

"Miles this is ridiculous! Why would the star football player at flippin' Harvard need a pep talk?"

"Because everyone needs a pep talk once in a while." Miles was right, but he never sounded more ridiculous at the moment.

"Miles I can hear your coach yelling at you to get on the field and he doesn't sound too happy."

"You know you're the one wasting time."

"EXCUSE ME! IM THE ONE WASTING TIME?!" She yelled into the phone. Just as Miles had the ability to make her feel breathless he also had the ability to get on her nerves, and for whatever unknown reason she smiled at that.
