Tiberius unlocked the door to his apartment and pushed the door open, dropping his keys on the small table next to the door and flicking on the lights. He breathed in deeply before releasing it all at once like he hadn't been home in weeks.

A soft meow came from the sofa before a flash of black fur and bright eyes appeared on the back of the sofa.

"Hey, buddy," Tiberius cooed at the cat before turning to us. "That's Viserion, one of my two familiars. I expect you to play nice." He smirked, nodding at Sage and Fabian.

They both nodded as Tiberius waved us inside. Viserion was completely black with icy blue eyes and a scar that ran over his left eye. He looked ticked off and content at the same time. Viserion meowed again and Tiberius grinned. He walked towards Viserion and scooped him up, holding him close.

"Where's your brother?" Tiberius asked softly, glancing around. "It's not like he's good at hiding or anything."

Tiberius travelled towards the kitchen with Viserion in his arms and set him down on the island. I walked towards the island and sat down at one of the stools, Fabian not far behind. I looked out the window and the sun was just beginning to rise. Viserion meowed again and Tiberius rolled his eyes.

"I left you on your own for three days, you're perfectly capable of feeding yourself when I'm not here." Tiberius chided. "It's not like you need me to feed you, you just like it when I do."

Viserion made an angry growl sort of noise. Tiberius continued to talk to him in another language as if Viserion could understand every word he was saying.

"He can actually." Tiberius smiled. "Familiars are not like domestic pets. They are a subspecies of demon after all."

Fabian and I exchanged confused glances as Sage grunted in the background. Tiberius looked confused as well before a look of realisation took over his face.

"Right," He laughed. "I forgot to mention the whole thoughts thing. Your thoughts are really loud. So loud that's it's like they're almost desperate to be heard. Kind of like my cousin Jasmine. She's her own category of attention seeker."

He turned to the cupboard behind him and pulled out a box of cat food. Viserion purred happily as he leapt off the counter and onto the floor, trotting over to his bowl. Tiberius followed, pouring the biscuits into the cat bowls that sat on the floor.

A soft meow drifted into the kitchen as a snow-white cat with tawny eyes jumped onto the island. Tiberius turned and smiled again. He moved towards the cat and he purred happily as Tiberius scratched behind his ears.

"And this is Rheagal," Tiberius almost whispered. "I know, like the dragon's from Game of Thrones. I'm a sucker for fantasy."

"It's pretty damn cute if you ask me." Fabian cooed, petting Rheagal's head.

"Rheagal's pretty flipping cute." I corrected.

"Fucking." Fabian corrected. "Don't worry Casanova. You'll get it right one day."

I sighed heavily as Fabian and Tiberius laughed. Sage only snorted. He didn't seem to like anyone here. He tolerated Fabian and I don't think he trusted Tiberius regardless of whether he was trying to help or not. He even kept glaring at the cats. This wasn't going to end well.

Rheagal glanced at Viserion and quickly dashed forward to join him and his food bowl. Tiberius placed a plate with a sandwich in front of Fabian and I and then a third plate on my right side. Sage grumbled to himself but moved towards the offered food. His hunger always won out. He took a seat as Tiberius started talking again.

"After you finish your food, I'll get you guys some towels so you can shower, and then set you up with somewhere to sleep," Tiberius explained. "I only have one guest bedroom though and it has a double bed. So who's willing to share it?"

Fabian and Sage were hesitant to answer. Neither of them wanted to share with each other so the only option was for me to double up with one of them. Fabian wouldn't care if I picked him or Sage, as long as he got at least four hours of sleep. He would sleep in a dumpster if it meant he could sleep for twenty minutes.

Sage and I hadn't really had time to talk alone all that much since I panicked and shut everyone out for three days. I missed talking to him. I'd be able to talk to him privately when Tiberius and Fabian fell asleep. Which was something I knew we both needed to do.

"Sage and I don't mind doubling up," I answered. "We do it all the time."

"Heck yeah, you do," Fabian smirked. "You do it all the damn time."

Sage choked on his sandwich as Tiberius and Fabian doubled over in laughter. My eyes widened and I smacked Fabian upside the head.

"That was not what I flipping meant and you know it!" I yelled, my face heating up.

"That what you wanted to mean." Fabian poked me in my side. "I know all your dirty little secrets." He whispered. "I have enough potential blackmail material to last me millennia."

"I hate you," I growled.

"No, you don't." Tiberius chuckled. "Enough laughing. It's about time we all showered and got some sleep. We have a long drive to Michael's"

I felt all the anger drain from my body. "What?"

"We have a long drive to Michael's?" Tiberius guessed.

"I heard what you said," I state. "But wouldn't it make more sense to go get Gabriel? I mean, he's only an hour away."

"Yes, it would." Tiberius began. "But you didn't have a vision about Gabriel. You had one about Michael. This prophecy wants to play out in a certain way. You have to bring all of your brothers together, alive, for it to work. The prophecy wants you to focus on finding Michael, not Gabriel. Does that make some sort of sense?"

I thought it over for a minute or two, everyone in the room watching me.

"It does make sense," I answered. "It would just be easier to pick up Gabriel and then bring him to Michael."

"I know you'd like to think that but it wouldn't be easier." Tiberius sighed.

"Why's that?" Fabian asked. "Is he stubborn or something?"

"No." Tiberius deadpanned. "Well, yes but all of Cassiel's brothers are stubborn. I'm referring to Dorian."

"The guy that's taking care of Gabriel?" Sage questioned.

"Yep," Tiberius said popping the p. "Once Dorian gets something, he never lets it go. I learnt that the hard way when I let him babysit Gabriel while I searched for Raziel. He never let me take him. He knew how important Gabriel was. What he would be apart of. Therefore, he won't give him up without a fight. And knowing him, it'll be a bloodbath."

"Oh"

"Oh is correct."
