With a breath, I adjusted my grip on Rocket's large blaster. Glancing to my left I noticed Gamora scratch at the vest that she along with the others on our band of six were forced to wear.

"Showtime, a-holes!" Peter called while holding a small device. Following his gaze to where he was looking, I silently prepared myself from whatever was about to come out of the swirling clouds above. "It's going to be here any minute." He informed us, observing the clouds intensely.

"Which will be its loss." The sound of a gun cocking caught both mine and Peter's attention.

The two of us looked over to Gamora who held a rather large blaster. I rose a brow at her, Peter doing the same as Gamora's thing was generally swords, not guns.

"I thought your thing was a sword?" Peter called out in an almost hurt tone, making Gamora roll her eyes.

"We've been hired to stop an interdimensional beast from feeding on those batteries and I'm going to stop it with a sword?" Gamora snarked, raising a brow at Peter watching him like the idiot he was.

Peter bristled, looking back down to the device in his hands. "It's just that swords were your thing, and guns were mine... but I guess we're both doing guns now, I just didn't know that." Peter said with pursed lips, me scoffing at him.

Gamora and Peter's relationship was a tricky one. It was apparent there was an obvious unspoken spark of romance they had going, but Gamora more than Peter refused to acknowledge it. However, I knew in the days coming something would push them over the edge and they wouldn't be able to ignore it any longer.

Geez, I wish my romantic life was that interesting.

Looking over to Drax, I did a double take at his shirtless nature. He was supposed to be wearing the vest alike to everyone else except me.

"Drax, why aren't you wearing one of Rocket's Aero-Rigs?" I scowled, reprimanding him.

The Aero-Rigs were a flight mechanism which Rocket had created allowing them all to fly. I didn't need one considering I was able to fly myself. Drax turned to me briefly, shaking his head.

"It hurts." Is all he said, gaining the attention of the rest of the crew.

"Hurts?" Gamora added.
