"OKAY, the bad news is..." I exclaimed, landing back on the planet Berhert, extinguishing myself just outside of our crashed spaceship. "There was like nothing except junk, so we're stuck fixing the ship by hand. Good news is... I'm back, bitches." I smiled, something that turned to a frown when I saw no one near.
Where had they all gone?
"Guys?" I asked out loud, becoming concerned when I got no reply. "GUYS!" I tried again, this time much louder.
Considering a song from Peter's playlist was playing through the ship they couldn't have gone far, or been gone for a long time for the matter.
My concern only spiked when I realized that it was in fact night. Swallowing my fear, I quickly looked around the ship trying to find any sort of sign as to where they could have gone.
When I left, Peter's apparent dad had just made an appearance. God damn it, I knew I shouldn't have left them with that guy, I didn't trust Peter's dad at all.
I mean the dude's name was 'Ego' for crying out loud. However, my worry was put aside when I heard the familiar tune of Rocket humming along with the song. Smiling, I shook my head at the paranoid thoughts.
"Rocket? Where are you, buddy?" I called loudly, frowning when I got no reply, but his humming continued on. "Rocket!" I yelled, being met with the same response.
Narrowing my eyes, I listened closely to his humming, eyes going wide when I realized there was something insanely off with it. It took only seconds for me to comprehend that what I was hearing, in fact, was not happening live. His humming was coming from a recorder planted somewhere, and this song was playing deliberately for some sort of distraction.
"ROCKET!" I screamed, looking around the ship hoping for some sight as to where the team I called my family was. "Gamora! Peter! Drax!" I spun in a circle, my panic at an all-time high. "Groot, freaking Nebula! ANYONE!"
Just as I said that sentence, my breath caught short when I heard the sound of a gun rapidly firing. A large number of yells were heard coming from the forest a short distance away making me snap my head to it.
Taking a step toward the forest, ready to go see what was happening I was suddenly stopped by the one and only Rocket's voice. "What are you doing, Persephone!" He whispered a yell at, his voice coming from one of the trees he was hiding in. "Nevermind that, I'll catch you up on what happened later, for now, get in the ship!" Looking through the trees trying to see if I could spot the raccoon, I gave up when I couldn't, deciding to listen to Rocket and go into the ship.
I trusted Rocket enough to when and when not to listen to him. By the tone of his voice, now was most definitely a time I should listen to him. Quickly, I flew into the ship hoping to find the rest of our small team inside.
