"It all happened yesterday. There was this girl that I've been into for quite some time. The two of us have been flirting back and forth so it was pretty clear that there was some tension between us. You know what I'm talking about...", Colin said turning towards Mark. He smirked in response. Seriously?

All I could do was to twist my mouth in disgust. "So I saw that girl again yesterday evening. She was alone and clearly happy about some company. After a while we started making out pretty wildly. Since she wanted to take it to the next level she invited me over to her place. But then we had a little encounter with another guy. He just couldn't understand that the girl was head over heals for me and not him. So he got jealous. Of course, I tried to protect her from his craziness and it got a little out of hand." Mark seemed to believe every single word that came out of Colin's stupid mouth. How could he be so naive?

"And who is he?", Mark asked eagerly.

"I don't know him, just some random guy..."

"What about her? She has to know who he is, right?"

"She moved away and I don't know how to reach her.", Colin said seemingly uncomfortable with Mark's questions.

"Are you talking about Aileen? She just moved away. Of course, we could reach her." Mark turned to face me. "Right, Chloe?"

"I don't think that he's talking about Aileen. She wouldn't..." I didn't know how to finish that sentence without offending anyone in the room. Colin just had this evil smirk plastered on his face obviously not wanting to help me. "Besides, Aileen was with me yesterday evening."

Finally, Colin decided to clear the air. "Yeah, it was someone you don't know. Really Mark, it's fine. Just let it go."

"If that's what you want, I'll let it go." I heard the words coming out of Mark's mouth but I could tell that they weren't sincere. As much as I wanted to believe him he would chase the guy by any chance.

"Thank you. By the way, you should probably get going. The nurse told me to get as much sleep as I can."

"Alright buddy. See you soon." When Mark turned around to leave, Colin quickly handed me a small piece of paper nodding carefully. After hesitating for a few seconds I took it.

The ride home was very silent. Mark was probably plotting how to find the guy Colin was talking about and I didn't know how to keep him from doing so.

As soon as I was home alone I opened the paper Colin gave me. It read, "I will keep my mouth shut as long as you do the same. Otherwise this story won't end well for your little boy toy."

Colin knew that I would never say anything that would hurt the person who rescued me and he was right. Colin and I would keep our mouths shut but there was one more person in the picture.

Me: You can't tell anyone about what happened yesterday!

Un: And let Colin get away with it?!?

Me: Please! Colin already got what he deserved...

Un: Oh that asshole deserves a lot more than that

Me: But if you let it go, Colin won't tell on you either and I can keep Mark away from you

Un: Okay fine. I won't say a word about what happened if you do me one favor...

I hesitated. This person could have the worst intentions and I wouldn't even know.

Me: Which would be...?

Un: You have to break up with Mark

Me: Just when I thought you were different from everybody else you prove me wrong! I won't break up with my boyfriend just because you say so, jerk!!!

Un: I just can't see you getting hurt and you will get hurt sooner or later if you stay with him

Me: What are you talking about? We're happy

Mark would never hurt me intentionally. Even though he can be an idiot from time to time he has a pure soul and I trust him.

Un: I can't tell you

Me: Seriously? If you want me to break up with Mark you have to be honest with me!!

Un: Are you sure you want to know?

Me: Yes, definitely

Un: Okay fine. You'll find out tomorrow

I held my breath as I read the last message over and over again. Of course I wanted to know what was going on with Mark lately and finally I would get the answer. Still, I was scared of losing him. It's easy to pretend that you are happy but if I found out the truth and it was really as bad as everyone kept on telling me I couldn't pretend anymore.

I was running around the house getting ready for school in a hurry when the doorbell rang. I opened the door revealing Mark in front of it. "Hey, what are you doing here?"

"I just figured since Aileen can't take you to school anymore and you are always running late I could give you a ride." He placed his hands on my hips and pulled me closer. "Besides, I wanted to see my beautiful girlfriend." His lips crashed into mine almost violently.

After a few seconds I pulled away. "You're right. We're running late." Without saying another word I grabbed my bag and walked over to his car. I know Mark hadn't done anything wrong but the messages from last night started messing with my head. I didn't know who to trust anymore.
