You stood there in shock as Michael walked out. You ran after him as he made his way out to the corridor. Pulling his hand back, your eyes began to tear up. He turned around, studying you with sad eyes.

"I...I poured my heart to you," you whispered. "And all you can do is throw it back at me?"

Michael sighed, shaking his head. "I'm not throwing anything back at you. I love you, (Y/N). I've never loved anyone as much as I love you - but that's besides the point," he focused on you. "(Y/N), I'm tired. I'm tired of everything, and I can't do this anymore,"

"Michael, please," you breathed. "Please don't do this. Think about your kids,"

"I know that they'll be safe with you. You're a wonderful person," he responded. "I'm not going to change my mind,"

"What about me?" the tears streamed down your face. "Don't you love me enough to change your mind?"

Michael simply stared at you before looking away. "I love you, more than you'll ever know..." he trailed off.

"But you aren't going to change your mind," you completed his sentence.

With a broken heart, you turned around and walked away from him. Your eyes were swollen, and your face was wet. Walking out of Neverland, you felt heavy.

You didn't know if you could bear it. Michael had become so special to you.

Walking into your small flat, you shut the door behind you before tossing your handbag onto the sofa. This evening seemed to be a little more dull, and lonely - making you sad. You sat down with a sigh, turning your head to look at the telephone that sat on the table beside you.

Picking it up, you began to dial a familiar number. The line rang for a few seconds before someone picked up.

"Hello?" Luisa's voice greeted you.

"Luisa," you choked, feeling the tears run down your face again.

"(Y/N)?" you heard her ask. "Girl, hey, what happened?" you could tell that she had begun to panic. "Why are you crying?"

"I've failed..." you sobbed. "I failed,"

"Honey, failed at what? Talk to me,"

"I couldn't change Michael's mind," you sniffled. "He's going to go through with it. He leaves for Switzerland in a week,"

Luisa gasped, staying silent for a moment.

"Girl, hold on. I'm coming to your flat," she answered. "Just keep calm, and stay there. I'll be there in a few minutes," she spoke before disconnecting the call.

Standing up, you made your way into the kitchen. You opened the cupboard, pulling out a glass of fine wine. Taking the bottle, you set it down gently onto the counter before walking over to the sink, fetching a glass.

You made your way back to the bottle of wine, successfully opening it. Once you had done so, you poured the red liquid until the glass was full. In the blink of an eye, you had gulped the wine - making you a tad bit tipsy.

Suddenly, you heard someone knocking at the door. Glass in hand, you walked over and opened it. Luisa was standing before you, a sad look on her face.

"Aw honey," she breathed, taking a step forward and embracing you. "I'm so sorry," she whispered, rubbing your back. When she pulled away, she grabbed your empty glass from you - walking into the kitchen and setting it down onto the counter. "None of this," she raised an eyebrow at you. "(Y/N), you need to think straight,"

"I don't want to think straight," you laughed a little. "I want to forget the pain. I couldn't change his mind,"

Luisa stood there, shoving her hands into the pockets of her jeans. You could tell that she felt sorry for you, and that made you let out a sob. Your best friend walked up to you - pulling you close and rubbing your back.

"I'm so sorry," was all she could say. "I'm so sorry,"

The next morning, you had awoken to a horrible headache. Luisa was asleep on the couch, next to you - and when you got up, you tried your best not to wake her up. Getting to your feet, you sighed, taking a look around the room. Everything felt empty.

Just as you made your way into the kitchen, you heard someone knocking at the front door. A frown formed on your face as you walked to the door, opening it. To your surprise, you saw Janet - standing there with a worried look on her face.

"Janet?" you questioned. "Is everything okay?"

"N-No," she choked. "Michael left for Switzerland this morning,"
