You were seated in the kitchen, sipping on your orange juice quietly. Your husband, Michael, walked in - making his way over to you and kissing your forehead.
"Good morning," he whispered before straightening up, walking over to sit down across from you.
"What's so good about it?" you scoffed lightly.
"You," he winked.
At his words, you blushed. Sixteen years of marriage, and he still managed to make you feel like a lovesick school girl.
It was nine in the morning, and the day had barely started. Yet, you just wanted to go back to sleep. Your depression was getting worse, and it was starting to eat you up from the inside, out. Michael, of course, knew nothing of this.
The two of you had three wonderful children. Edward, 15; Charlotte, 13; and Rose, 10. Your kids were your entire world, and you always made it a point to spend quality time with them.
But the depression was stopping you from being happy, and you hardly ever wanted to be around your children when you were sad.
"Hardy har har," you rolled your eyes playfully. "So funny,"
"I'm not being funny, I'm telling the truth," he grinned as Edward walked into the kitchen.
"Hey mom, hey dad," he waved, all dressed up for school.
"Ooh, you look smart," you remarked as he sat down at the breakfast table.
"Are you trying to...impress someone?" Michael wiggled his eyebrows.
"Yes! Eddie has a crush!" Charlotte exclaimed as she walked in, Rose close behind. "Her name's Violet!"
"Shut up!" Edward's eyes widened at his sister.
"Oops," she shrugged.
You giggled as Rose and Charlotte sat down as well. Your family was your entire world, and you adored them very much.
"Ugh, I don't wanna go to school," Rose rolled her eyes. "It's boring,"
"She's only saying that because she thinks math class is too easy," Edward responded. "I swear, Rose is a genius,"
"Right," Michael stood up with a smile on his face. "Eat, and be ready in half an hour - I'll drop you kids to school,"

After Michael and the children had left, you had made your way up to the bedroom that you shared with your husband. You were laying on the soft mattress, and the tears rolled down your face as you let your mind wander.
Despite the fact that you had a wonderful family, you felt alone. You felt isolated.
You wished that you could go out and do something interesting, but you knew that the media would follow you - and mass attention was something you did not need, considering your current state.
You fiddled with your wedding ring, keeping in mind how heavy it was. Suddenly, the telephone rang - making you sit up. You used the back of your hand to wipe the tears off of your face before leaning over and picking up the receiver.
