✽SET IN THE BAD/DANGEROUS ERA✽

You opened your eyes, and noticed that the skies were dark. Sitting up in the bed slightly, you glanced at your wrist watch, and noted that your husband of four years - Michael Jackson, was not home yet. It was five minutes after midnight, and you had fallen asleep whilst waiting for him. You groaned and leaned back against the headboard of the bed. He always did this, he always forgot that he had a wife to come home to.

He was working on a new album, and you understood the demands of the aforementioned, but you simply felt lost without the man you loved. You just wanted to spend more time with him.

You had put everything on hold for him. You had put having children on hold, just so that he could continue with his work. It had been four years, and you wanted to start a family.

Letting out a sigh, you stared out of the large window, admiring the way the stars shone. They were bright, far from the condition of your heart.

You sat there for a good fifteen minutes before you heard the front doors open and close. A small sigh escaped your lips as you realized that Michael was finally home. A moment passed, and the bedroom door opened. Your husband stepped in before shutting the door. He had a bunch of papers in his hand, and be placed them on his dressing table before walking over to sit down at the edge of the bed.

"How was work?" you inquired gently, using your hand to rub his back.

"Busy," he breathed. "And frustrating," he moved away from you. "I need to have a shower,"

You closed your eyes momentarily before opening them again. Michael was always cold with you when he returned from work, and it hurt you. Things just weren't the same anymore.

Michael stood up, and walked to the bathroom door - opening it and walking inside. You stared at him as he pushed the door shut, making tears form in your eyes.

It was always like this, and if there was a time when he was happy - you would treasure the moment for as long as possible.

You didn't know if things were going to get better.

You took in a deep breath as you stood in front of the bathroom mirror. Your eyes were swollen, and you had been crying a great deal - and your heart was racing. On the counter, lay the pregnancy test that you had just taken - and it proved to be positive. You had a baby growing inside of you, and you did not know how to react. You were certain that Michael would be disappointed, because children had not yet been planned.

Placing your left hand over your abdomen, you watched as your wedding ring glistened in the bathroom light. It was eight in the evening, and Michael was in the study room, discussing business on the phone.

With a sigh, you tossed the pregnancy test into the rubbish bin, and walked toward the door - opening it as you turned off the light. Pulling the door shut behind you, you leaned against the piece of wood and closed your eyes. You were happy that you were pregnant, but you weren't sure about how your husband would react.

You decided to make your way to the bedroom door, opening it and stepped out before closing it. Your bare feet moved along the carpeted floor as you walked along the corridor, making your way to Michael's study room.
