Michael held his hand out to you, and you shook it before releasing it. He had a smile on his face, and he looked more handsome than ever. Judging from the way he presented himself, you knew that he hadn't recognized you. But no one could blame him, you had grown up to be very beautiful.
"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Jackson," you nodded, trying your best not to look uncomfortable.
"Please," he waved nonchalantly. "Call me Michael," he paused for a moment. "Your name is....?" he stared at you.
You bit your lip and thought for a moment. You didn't want to tell him your real name, because you didn't want him to recognize you. You looked around, and noticed that there were roses in the garden area.
"Rose," you lied.
"Rose," he nodded. "A lovely name,"
"T-Thanks," you were nervous, and you were disturbed.
Please don't recognize me.
"Come in," he stepped aside. You grinned slightly before walking past him, and into the house. Instantly, you were met with the beautiful decor. The vases looked expensive, and the flowers were bright. Holding onto your hand bag, you turned around to face Michael.
"You have a lovely house," you remarked. "The interior is beautiful,"
"Thank you," he smiled a little before moving to walk ahead of you. "Follow me," he led you into the living room, where he gestured for you to sit down on the leather sofa. You did so, and Michael sat down across from you. "Would you like something to eat, or drink?"
"No, thank you," you blushed a little. The man was handsome, and all you could remember was a little boy.
"Are you sure? You look a little pale," he laughed a little. "Not that I meant to judge,"
"No, no, that's fine," you waved him off. "The day is rather cold anyway,"
Michael stayed silent and nodded before clearing his throat. "Would you...like to start now? I have my financial records with me," he breathed. "They're in my bedroom,"
"Yes, if you'd be kind enough to retrieve them, I can get started with the calculations right away," you smiled.
"Great," he stood up. "I'll go and get them, and then we'll start,"
"Sounds like a plan,"

Once Michael had retrieved the respective documents, the two of you had spent over two hours going over all the accounts. Being with him made you think about the times that you would play together, when you were kids. He didn't seem to have changed, and you enjoyed being with him. Now that you had finished, you looked up and moved your neck a little to stretch.
Michael sighed and stood up, a tired expression on his face.
"Well, that's done," you spoke softly. "I shall come back next month when your reports have been updated," you addressed him as you stood up. Michael nodded before he broke into a wide smile.
"That'll be great," he said. "Are you sure you don't want anything to drink?"
"Actually, a glass of water would be nice," you smiled shyly.
"Of course," Michael walked past you, and into the kitchen. You fiddled with your fingers and looked around the room as you waited for him. As you scanned the area, your eyes landed on a table that had a plethora of photo frames, placed on the surface. Walking closer to it, you saw pictures of Michael's family. Eventually, you noticed that there were three photographs of you. One was of you and him, and the other two were just you alone. Your smile was brighter back then.
Your eyes began to tear up slightly. He remembered you?
A moment passed before Michael came walking back with a glass of water. You looked up as he handed it to you.
"Thanks," you took the glass and took a sip of water.
"I see you've found my table of photographs," he chuckled.
"Yeah," you nodded. "I can see these are your...family members?" you tried to play dumb.
"All except for her," he pointed at your photograph.
"Oh, who is she?" you stared at the man.
"She...was my best friend," he bit his lip.
"Was?" you inquired.
"We used to be best friends, we were closer than anything," he breathed. "But...my family and I had to leave and..." he trailed off. "I lost her,"
"Sounds like the two of you were pretty close," you remarked.
"We were. I still miss her. I never contacted her, but I hope she's doing alright,"
You stayed silent before placing the glass down. You sighed and looked at Michael.
"Well, it's been wonderful of you to have had me here," you spoke softly. "But I should leave now,"
"Of course," he held his hand out before leading the way to the front door. Opening it, he let you pass before you turned to face him one last time.
"Thank you," you flashed him a small smile before turning and leaving.
Your heart was still racing, and you were in disbelief.
Complete disbelief.

One Month Later:
After leaving Michael's home, you hadn't kept in contact with the man, and you preferred to keep it that way. You didn't want to become too emotional, so you reckoned you'd stay as Rose for as long as you needed to.
At present moment, you were sitting in your office, going through some paper work. The building was quiet, but after a moment - you heard screams from outside. You stood up and peeked through the window, seeing a large group of people down below. They were screaming, making you frown slightly.
What was going on?Suddenly, your telephone rang, making you jump slightly. You reached over and picked up the receiver, holding it to your ear.
"Hello?"
"Hello, (Y/N), there's someone here to see you. He just barged in," the receptionist spoke.
"Oh my God," you whispered as you saw Michael approaching your office. Your windows were made of glass, so you could see him properly. "Thank you," you said before placing the receiver down.
Michael walked in and pushed the door shut, staring at you.
"Mr. Jackson," you flashed him a small smile.
"Quit," his voice was solemn. "Why didn't you tell me?"
Your heart sank.
"Tell you what?" you frowned, feighning innocence.
"That you aren't Rose," he breathed. "You're (Y/N) (Y/LN),"
