You had walked with Michael, and he had shown you the house - expressing where he would like to have decorations set up. He had spoken to you about a banner for his sister, and you felt confident because design had always been something that you liked to do. Michael was a charming man, and the mansion was stunning. The sofas, in the living room, appeared to be the finest of leather. There were pieces of expensive items all over the house. However, it didn't necessarily matter to you - because Michael was successful, and his spending patterns were his business, and not yours.

After the tour of the mansion, he brought the both of you to a stop in the living room. He had his hands shoved into the pockets of his pants, and he studied your features thoroughly as you stood there, feeling anxious.

"Janet's birthday is tomorrow," he said. "Can you get everything in order by then?"

"What? Tomorrow?" you bit your lip. It was too little time. The banners wouldn't be able to be digitally painted then. You would have to do everything by hand. "Uh...I mean..." you trailed off.

What would Mary do? God, if I say I can't do this, she's going to fire me.

"Is that possible?" he frowned.

"Uh...yes," you nodded quickly. "What time do you want the whole situation to unfold at," you inquired.

"Seven, in the evening," he responded.

You had a whole day to prepare everything, you were going to do your best. You could design the banners, and create the decorations - that was what you were good at.

You can do this.

"Right, that'll be more than enough tine for me to prepare everything," you knew that you were lying. You were hoping for some miracle to save you, but like always - you were stuck in the situation that you had created for yourself.

"Are you...sure?" he inquired. "You see a little...hesitant,"

"I'm sure!" you flashed him a small smile. "I'm just...exhausted," you laughed nervously, fiddling with your fingers. You needed to get home as soon as possible to start on the items for the party. "Well, it was nice meeting you, Mr. Jackson," you held your hand out, and he took it - shaking it gently before releasing it. "It was a pleasure getting to meet you," you said. "But I really should get going, now,"

Michael's eyes widened, and his eyebrows drew together - forming a small frown.

"Do you want something to eat..or drink, before you go?"

"Uh, no thank you," you began to walk toward the front doors. The kids from earlier were sitting underneath a large tree, and they were staring at you. You smiled at them, and they smiled back before you stepped out of the mansion.

"Do you...have a ride home?" Michael questioned.

"Yes," you said. "I mean...no," you blushed. "I'll just stop a passing cab,"

"The main road is far from here," he remarked.

"Then I'll walk," you began to feel more stupid by the second.

"Nonsense," he shook his head. "I'll have Bill, one of my trusted people, to drop you home,"

"Oh no...I couldn't...do that. I don't want to cause any trouble,"
