Your POVIt took me longer then expected to find my homeroom. That's probably because I had the sheet upside down, so I had to walk all the way back and go right. Man this place was huge. Luckily, the bell was only a few minutes away from ringing when I got there, so the teacher wasn't mad. Mostly everyone was here. I walk in and sit at the back, at the seat next to the corner seat. I sit down and feel a faint buzzing from my jacket pocket. I turn my phone on silence and read the message. It was Nathan asking if I was doing okay.
I quickly respond by saying that I found my homeroom. He texts something else but I get stopped from reading it.
"Y'know, phones aren't really allowed to be used." I look up to see a guy with light brown hair and clear blue eyes smiling at me. He had a tan complexion. I place my phone on my lap and smile up at him weakly.
"Sorry, I was just texting my brother." I say apologetically. I pause for a second. Why am I apologizing? He's not the teacher.
"It's fine. Is this seat taken?" He asks, putting his hand on the desk next to me.
"Nope." I say, he nods and sits down. I peer back at my phone. He was spamming me so I just turned it off and slid it back into my pocket.
"Are you new here?" I hear him ask. I turn back around to see him laying on the table grinning at me, using his arms as a pillow. I smile.
"Yup. This place is huge." I say. It was in fact huge. I wonder how I even made it here.He looked like he was about to say something else when someone walked over and stood in between us. We both look up to see who. It's that guy from before! My mind screamed. I kept a calm expression. The guy I was talking to looks up at him.
"Hey bro. What's up?" He says casually. So they know each other. The blond boy smiles.
"Nothing much. I just got here in time." He replies. He looks at me. By this time, I wasn't really looking at either of them. I was back on my phone texting Nathan to stop and listen in whatever class he had. A soft 'hey' makes me look up.The blond guy was about to saw something but the teacher beat him to it.
"Everyone sit down. I'm starting the role." The guy in front of me sighs and sits in front of me. I slid my phone back into my pocket while I look at the teacher. He wasn't very happy, he was bald with brown eyes and a weathered face.
"Hello everyone, I'm Mr Garrison. Welcome to a new school year." Unenthusiastic groans spread throughout the class. I'm glad everyone was feeling like me. Wanting to go home. He started calling the role. I didn't pay much attention. I chirped up when he called my name out. The guy next to me looked at me and smiled. The other one in front of me chirped up with a 'Hear' when Mr called him out. So you're Garroth huh? After a few more names were called, the other guy yelled back when he was called. Laurence. Garroth and Laurence. Not bad names. After the role was done, he let us chat for a bit. He went and sat down at his desk, looking at his laptop.
"So you're Y/N." I turn around to Laurence. I nod.
"Yup. And your names Laurence." I say. He nods. The blond turns around to look at us both.
"It's nice to meet you then Y/N, I'm Garroth as you know." He says with a welcoming smile.
"Nice to meet you too." I say politely back.
"Y/N." I jump a little and turn around to Mr Garrison standing next to me.
"Yes sir?" I say. He gives me his iPad. I take it curiously.
"You have an interesting record." He says, pointing to some statistics shown on the iPad. I nod.
"You play a lot of sport and you are academically excellent. You were homeschooled last year correct?" He asks. I nod. "Ah okay. Actually..." He mutters, eyeing all three of us. "Would you three care to help with the freshman's in the gym? I'm supposed to pick some students to help with that."I look to the boys, they nod. I shrug and nod as well. He smiles. "Excellent. When the bell goes, head to the gym." After saying that, I give him back the iPad and he walks back to his desk. I turn around to see the two boys looking at me. I raise an eyebrow.
"What?" I ask. Was it something that sir said?
"That sounded very good. Which sports did you play?" Garroth asks. I pause then smile.
"Well, soccer was my favorite, but I've played baseball and basketball." I say. Their faces light up.
"Did you know that your staring at the captains of the soccer and baseball team?" Laurence says winking. I shrug his gesture off and smile.
"That's really cool. I didn't know they had clubs." I say. Garroth chuckles.
"Well that's what we're going to go do. The freshman are picking their clubs." He says. I half smile. This should be good...
