Chapter 30

"Well, I'm not sure. I don't think I will." I say. Dottie, Rylan and Daniel nod. Blaze frowns a little.
"Well we're going! It's the only year their allowing all years to go." Daniel says, excitedly, "I don't really wanna wait until senior year." I nod. We were sitting outside. It was lunch, so we ate while talking. It was pretty effective.

I hear a beep from my phone. I slip it out of my pocket and read the message. It was from Romeo.

R- Do you know where Aph is? She's not here... again.

I sigh as I get up and pack my stuff up.
"Sorry guys, I have to search for a lost friend. Can we continue this later?" I ask. They nod while Blaze stands up.
"I can help." He states. I nod and wave to the trio. We walk back into school and start to look for Aphmau. I stop by our table first. Laurence and Garroth glare at Blaze. I don't think he notices.
"So I'm looking for an Aphmau?" I ask Romeo. He nods.
"Yeah, she's been going off somewhere else lately. We're kinda worried." He explains. I sigh.
"Okay. Let's go get her Blaze!" I say enthusiastically. He nods and follows me, his tail wagging.

As we wander around, I think as too where Aph maybe is. I've checked the girls bathrooms and locker rooms but there's no sign of her. I've texted her, but knowing her, her phones on silent.
"Pst. Y/N!" I see Blaze standing next to a door whispering to me.
"What is it?" He points to the door. I look at the engraved words. "Music Rooms". I quietly open the door to see Aphmau hugging someone. It was a guy. He had black hair and his eyes were closed, clearly enjoying the hug. I quickly close the door, making sure not to make any noise. I turned to Blaze with a shocked expression.
"No way." I breathe.

We hurry back to the lunch tables. I had explained what happened to Blaze. I made him not tell anyone. Some heads pop up as we approach.
"Did you find her?" Katelyn asks. I pause.
"Uh yeah! She was... with a friend." I say hesitantly. I see her and some others frown.
"Oh, okay. Well thanks anyways N/N." Romeo says, eating a cereal bar. I nod and shuffle away with Blaze.

"Are you sure we shouldn't tell them?" He asks. I shake my head.
"Maybe. But that's something she should do, if she does." We were about to head back to the werewolves when the bell rang. We exchange a look before turning on our heels and walking back.

I watch the clock tick in the wall. This class is taking forever. I sit next to Romeo and scribble absently on my notebook. English was one of the few classes that I had with him. Travis and Dante sat in front of us while Aphmau and Katelyn sat to our left. The more I watched the clock the more time seemed to slow.

I turn to Romeo, who was playing on his phone under the table.
"Did you ask anyone to Prom?" I whisper. He looks up at me for a second and shakes his head.
"Not yet. I might go with the guys y'know?" I nod and lean on my desk. I see Aphmau staring out the window. I look over Romeo to see a guy walking down the hall. My mind stops as I realize who it is. That's the guy that was hugging Aph! I smirk at Aphmau and make a mental note to interrogate her about him.

We all scurry out to go home. I speed walk to Aph's side.
"So Aph." I begin. Her head whips around to look at me. "Who was that guy you were staring at?" Her face immediately flushes red. She stops and waves her hands in front of her.
"N-No one!" She squeaks. I grin.
"Sure sure." I shrug.

Romeo catches up and we head off home, Aph and us going our separate ways.

I talk to Travis across the table as we all eat our lunch.
"You should! What do you have to lose?" I smile. He grimaces before frowning.
"Everything. I have everything to lose." I sigh before crossing my arms on the table.
"Well, man up! I think you'll be good together." He blushes a little.
"Y-You mean it?" He stutters, his emerald eyes sparkling. I close my eyes and grin.
"I know so. Katelyn may reject you the first time, but just keep asking." He nods and scoffs down his sandwich slice. He pounds his fists down on the table.
"That's the spirit." I say encouragingly. Katelyn wasn't here at the moment, so this was a perfect time to talk about it. Travis was really set on getting her to go to prom with him. 4 days.

I turn to see Aphmau sitting beside that guy again. I also see Garroth and Laurence glare at him from the corner of my eye. I turn back and grin at them goofily.
"What's with you two?" They both look down at their lunches.
"Nothing." They say in unison. I shrug and look back at them. They were reading a book and laughing. I smile.
"Well, I'm glad she's having a great time." I say happily and go to grab my juice. I pause when I don't feel it.

I turn to see that is wasn't there. I frown and look around. I pause for a second.
"Why do you always steal my juice?" I ask. Garroth shoots me a shrug, all the while drinking my tropical juice box.
"I don't know what your talking about." He replies smugly. I give him a lopsided look.
"But... you have it. And I'd like it back." I respond. He smiles and hands it back.
"Anything for you." He says, smirking at me. I roll my eyes playfully and drink the rest of it, smiling.
"Such a flirt."
