Chapter 14

Laurence's POV

We heard everything. Who was she going on a date with? I heard her mention a name, but I couldn't hear clearly who it was. Garroth gave me a look. We lean back and both go on our phones while the game loads.
"You hear all that?" Garroth texts me.
"Yeah. Doesn't sound good." I reply. We could talk, it's just that, well, Nathan and Zyler would hear us.
"What if we invite Ivy and Michi to the ice rink rn?" He texts. I nod slowly.
"We just need to make sure that we don't get caught." I reply. He sends a thumbs up and I see him switch his messages to Ivy. Must be asking her. I switch to Michi and ask her.

In a few seconds, we both get dings that they're both up for it. We both nod and start playing the game. While we play, I think. Why are we so intent in following Y/N? We had girlfriends... Well, I did, Garroth was kind of forced to date Ivy. I feel for him, but he shouldn't have lied.

We watch as Y/N strolls back into the room, wearing a her F/C varsity jacket with black jeans and some pure white sneakers. She looked really good.
"I'm heading off, I'll be back somewhere around 7." She says. Nathan grunts a sure. Someone knocks on the door, so she turns on her heel and opens the door.
"You ready?" I hear someone say. I think it's Romeo.
"Yup. Let's go." I hear her reply. I hear a skateboard drop and the door close. She's off.

My phone goes off and I see it's Garroth. It dings loudly. He nudges me.
"Sorry, it's my dad. We have to go." I lie. I felt bad, but we had a mission. Whatever it is. I see Nathan pause the game and frown.
"It's cool. See you guys later." He says with a wave. We high five and walk out the door. We look down the street to see Y/N and Romeo skate off in the distance. We also see two people standing outside Garroth's house. Ivy and Michi. I see Garroth look down as we walk towards them.

"Hey Gareth! You ready?" Ivy says excitedly. I reel back from her voice. I see Garroth do the same and nod. We were dressed good enough, in our normal clothes. Michi hugs me.
"Hey Laurence~Kun. Let's go!" Garroth dashes inside and brings out his mom. She greets everyone before we all hop in his car, leaving me in the back with the girls. We both see Y/N and Romeo skating and talking as we drive past. The girls don't notice them, but we do.

We thank his mom as she drives away. This should be good.
"Ah! I'm so excited! Aren't you too Gareth?!" Ivy says, clinging to his arm and screaming at him. I really feel bad now... He smiles the best he can, visibly annoyed that she constantly says his name wrong.
"Of course. Lets go." He says calmly, leading us all inside.

This place was awesome! The lower floor was for skating and the upper floor was the food court. We pay for our skates and sit down to put them on. I look up for a second to see five people walk in. I almost smile when I register them. Y/N, Romeo, Kyle, Jack and someone else. It was another guy. He had slicked up reddish brown hair and grey-blue eyes. He wore a red hoodie with black sweatpants and basketball shoes. They all seem so excited. They all had they're boards as well.

I watch as they walk up to the skate counter and buy some skates. Garroth yanks my arm and I stand up and follow him to the other side of the rink with the girls following.
"What are we going to do?" I whisper. He lets go.
"Make sure they don't see us." He whispers back. I nod and turn around. That's almost impossible.

Your POV

This place is great! The music was decent and there were so many people. Not to mention that the cold was quite nice after skating for a while.
"Over there." Jack says, pointing to the register. I nod and walk over. We buy our skates and go to sit down and put them on. I hold up my shoes.
"Where do I put these?" I ask. Romeo takes off his vest and grabs my shoes, putting them under it and covering them.
"Done." He says, standing up. He pulls me up. It feels weird wearing these, and they're heavy. But I can't wait.

We race onto the rink and almost tumble over.
"You can't skate, can you Romeo?" I look back at Romeo, clutching the railing as if his life depended on it. He shakes his head.
"No! I can, I'm just not good at it." He sulks. I laugh. Kyle skates over to him and rips him from the railing. He almost falls, but recovers.
"How about we make a rule?" I turn to Alec. He's our new friend, and he's pretty cool. I nod.
"Go on." I say. He smiles widely.
"Whenever someone falls over, they have to do 10 push-ups." He says confidently. I grin.
"Yeah, that sounds good. You hear that Romeo?!" I yell as I turn to Romeo. "You'll be super strong by the end of this!" I say, trying not to laugh. The others laugh and I crack. Romeo just frowns.
"I feel like I'm being bullied." I skate over to him and put a hand on his shoulder.
"No no no silly, if I were to bully you, I would push you over." I say cheerfully.

Garroth's POV

I look over to Y/N's group. They seemed to be having such fun.
"Hear that Romeo?! You'll be super strong by the end of this!" Her group bursts into laughter. I sigh. I wish I was having fun with them...
"Gareth! Skate with me!" Ivy yells, snatching my hand.
"Of course." I say, as cheerfully as I can.
