Chapter 29

The bell rings and we all pile out, rushing to the school gates so we can all escape. I take my time and walk down the steps, a few steps behind Garroth and Laurence. Aphmau ran off somewhere. I still need to chat we her about what happened.

I turn to hear someone whistle. I see Gene waving his hands and motioning for me to come.
"Y/N! Come her a second!" He yells. I shrug and walk towards him. I glance behind me to see the boys stop and glance at me.

I walk up to Gene and he looks at someone else.
"This guy wanted to talk to you." He says simply. I shrug and walk down the hall with Gene to whoever wanted to meet me. I see a werewolf peek out of the hallway and stand in the middle. He had dark brown hair and bright red eyes. He seemed to have a smile plastered on his face.
"Ah Y/N! It's nice to meet you." He says, walking up and searching me.
"It's nice to meet you...?" I say, willing him to say his name. He smiles.
"It's Balto." He smirks. I nod.

He steps closer and sniffs me. I was about to push him away, but I remembered what I learned from Blaze and the trio. It's just how they get to know you. He stumbles back and flicks his nose in the air. Do I smell bad?
"Your single for Prom, am I wrong?" He asks. I timidly look away.
"Uh, no your right." I say awkwardly. I wish Dante was here...

"Actually, she's not. Sorry pal." I hear footsteps walk up beside me. I turn to see Laurence and Garroth stand on either side of me. He glares at them and then at me. I just shrug and scratch the back of my neck. Smiling awkwardly.
"You..." He growls. They both give him a leveled gaze. He growls and walks off, Gene groans and walks off after him.
"See ya Y/N." he says, almost annoyed.

I wave and turn to Garroth and Laurence. I hug them both. They both seem surprised but hug back.
"Thank you! That was weird. I really can't do anything on my own..." I mutter. I let go and step back.
"Anything to help a pretty lady." Laurence smirks.
"Guess we have to keep our eyes on you." Garroth smiles, shrugging.

I chuckle and walk past them, heading back out of the school. I hear them walk a few feet behind me.
"Garroth! Hurry up!" I hear someone yell. I turn to see a guy with black hair covering his eye and an icy blue eye that looked up set. He seemed to have a hood on. There was a much happier guy beside him. He had brown hair and bright emerald. I see Garroth come up beside me.
"Would you care to meet my brothers?" He asks. I nod.
"Sure, why not." I say.

We walk over and the black haired one seems upset.
"Who's this? Your girlfriend?" He asks bluntly. I shake my head.
"Nah just friends. I'm Y/N." I say. I glance at Garroth in time to hear him mumble something.
"Yeah... friends..." he murmurs. I don't think they heard him.
"Well, I'm Zane." He says, bored.
"I'm Vylad!" The brunette beams. At least one of them is happy. I stand back.
"You guys are a cute family!" I say, proudly. I see Vylad beam while Zane scoffs and Garroth grins.

"Hey N/N." I feel someone sling their arm around my neck. I grimace when I know who it is.
"Hey Natty." I reply. Someone ruffles my hair.
"These are my brothers, Nathan and Zyler." I say, pointing in the general direction to where they were for Zane and Vylad. They both seem surprised.
"Cool to meet you." Vylad says.
"Likewise." Zyler says to the both of them. Zane narrows his eye.

"Your both similar compared to him." Zane says suspiciously, pointing. I shrug.
"Yeah. That's because we're adopted." I say, pointing to Nathan. Their jaws drop, including Laurence's who just walked to us. Nathan nods.
"Wow. I didn't know..." Garroth gasps. Vylad, however, jumps up and down.
"That's cool! So am I!" He says, holding his hand up for a high five. I grin and high five him.
"How did I not know..?" Laurence's mutters. I smile.

"Laurence is also adopted!" An orange haired girl says, coming up behind him and grinning. Laurence immediately turns and blocks her mouth.
"Gah! Cadenza!" He says, shocked. I giggle.
"How did I not know?" I repeat. He scratches the back of his neck.
"Well... I."
"Adoption Buddies." Nathan laughs. I push him.
"Irene no!." I roll my eyes.

A horn beeps and the Romeaves all whip around.
"Sorry that'll be our mom. See you guys later." Garroth says sadly, walking off with his siblings. Vylad waved us goodbye while Zane speed walked to the car. Not a people person I guess... I turn to the orange haired girl. She had a stunned look.
"Wow! Are you Y/N?" She asks. I nod.
"Yup!" She covers her mouth.
"I'm Cadenza! Laurence's sister. By the way, Laurence will not shut up about you." She says giggling. I feel myself blush a little.
"Cadenza!!" Laurence yells, trying to cover her mouth again. She evades him pretty well.
"Dads here!" She yells. He stops and looks out onto the parking lot. He frowns and turns back to us.
"Yeah he is. See you guys tomorrow!" He says, walking off and pushing Cadenza. She pushes him back hard and almost makes him fall over. We all laugh as he recovers.

I turn to my brothers. They laugh as they watch the cars speed off.
"That was... interesting." I say, walking off. They walk beside me.
"Oh yeah."
