Your POV

Disco lights, loud music and masses of people appear as soon as we walk through the gym doors. The music was no surprise though, I could hear it down the block. My brothers, Romeo and I walk in, also accompanied by my brothers dates. Zyler waltzed in, hand in hand with Cadenza while Nathan walked in with Lucinda. I had to admit, they were good matchings. I wore the F/C dress I picked out with my hair down, curled in soft wavy patterns. The dim lights make it hard to see through the clusters of people, but I can bearly make out our group.

We maneuver through the crowds of dancing teens, and sit down at our table, partially exhausted. We greet each other and I take note of who's here. Aphmau was with Aaron, Katelyn was with Travis, Dante was with Nicole, and of course, Romeo and I along with my brothers with Cadenza and Lucinda. Kawaii~Chan was sitting down beside Teony. I turn to Katelyn with a stunned look.
"Katelyn. How?" Was all that came out. She rolls her eyes and glares at a smiling Travis.
"He wouldn't leave me alone." She shrugs. Travis beams.
"The art of persuasion!" He shouts triumphantly.
"The art of annoyance..." Katelyn mutters.

I snicker and see that neither Garroth or Laurence were here. Probably with a group of girls. I feel someone jab me in my side. I turn to smack Romeo but instead see that he's occupied with watching something intently. I lower my fist and look at him curiously.
"What?" I ask.
"Look who's watching you." He smirks and nods his head in that direction. I do my best to focus on Romeo and not who he was getting me to look at. I've had my fair share of stares, I don't need more. He turns to me with a goofy smile.
"You going to go over there or not?" He mocks. I shrug.
"Who is it?" He looks unimpressed.
"Laurence. He's staring at you." I feel my cheeks turn a shade of red as he says that.

I finally give in and turn my head. He was telling the truth. Laurence stood there frozen, with a group of angry freshman girls trying to talk to him. They tried so hard, but it was clear that his gaze was elsewhere. Elsewhere being me. He smirks as soon as I smile at him, not letting this turn too awkward. I turn to talk to Romeo only to whip around again. My head spins as I look around.
"Where did he go?" I say, astonished at my friends ninja skills. How did I not notice?

I look back at Laurence to see him waving to the group and walking over to me. I involuntarily gulp. I felt a little less confident now that Romeo has left me. I sigh and stand up, finding no point in staying now that Romeo's abandoned me.
"Hello beautiful." My widens as Laurence walks up to me. Jeez he makes up distance fast. "You look gorgeous tonight." He adds, winking at me. I stifle a laugh as he does.
"Thanks. You look great as well." I reply. His eyebrows shoot up as he peers to my sides.
"Do... do you not have a date? I thought it was Romeo." He asks in amazement. I shrug.
"Well, I did. But apparently Romeo's bailed on me, so, y'know." I say, defeat evident in my voice.

"Well..." he smirks, "may I have the privilege of being your date?" I laugh loudly as he bows.
"Yes you may." I answer. He smiles brightly and stands straight.
"Care to dance m'lady?" He asks, extending his hand. I nod and take it, with him leading me to the dance floor. A slow dance comes on and we can't help but grin as we start to sway. It was so nice. I couldn't help but stare off into his vibrant baby blue eyes, as he did as well. The world seemed so distant in that moment.

I feel my dress pocket vibrating. It knocked me out of dream land, and I was pretty upset about it. I excuse myself for a moment while I check my phone. I walk back to the table and check my messages. I felt so bad, it seemed that Laurence was so focused on me. As I was on him.

Gene: Get off the dance floor for the next five minutes and enjoy.

I sigh and walk to the dance floor for a moment. I forgot something. I see Laurence still staring me. I blush as I search him. He wore a sharp, black suit with a bright green tie. His hair was combed in the perfect way, and I couldn't help but adore his gaze on me. I grab his hand and lead him to a corner of the gym.

We get away from the dance floor until I guess that we're fine. He raises an eyebrow as we stop.
"If you wanted me alone you could've just asked." He smirks, winking. I breathe a laugh.
"Well, you'll thank me later." I reply. He looks confused, but slowly nods. I turn to the dance floor and silently count in my head until I get to five.
"Five, four, three, two, one." I whisper. I feel Laurence's arm sneak around my waist.

A thump echoes as water balloons fall from the roof, pelting and splashing anyone on the dance floor. I almost double-over in fits on laughter as I watch it all unfold. Girls were complaining and screaming while their male dates tried to calm them. Glares were thrown everywhere, everyone suspicious of anyone.

"I take it you enjoyed?" I hear a voice say besides me. I clam myself down and smile broadly.
"I have to say, you guys went all out." I praise. Gene, Zenix and Sasha smile proudly. I hear Laurence growl besides me. I flash him a reassuring smile before facing the trio again.
"Well, we better be off before the teachers put the gym on lockdown." Gene sighs, "see ya Y/N." he says, waving as he walks towards the door along with Zenix and Sasha.

I turn to Laurence with a grin. He seems unsure and almost frowns at the dance floors sight.
"Oh c'mon! That was pretty funny." I say, nudging him. He pulls me closer by the waist and laughs quietly.
"Yeah, it was." He points to the crowd, "look there's Ivy!" He announces. I follow his gaze to see Ivy stomping madly as she screams at a boy. Poor guy. I giggle at the sight. Thank Irene for karma.

"Y'know," he begins, looking down at me cuddled into his side, "I'm having a great time." I chuckle and nod.
"Me too. In a way, I'm kind of glad Romeo ditched me." I admit, "because if he didn't, I'm not sure how he would react to you doing this." I chuckle. He hums something before leaning forward. My eyes widen as his lips crash onto mine. I close my eyes and lift my hands to his chest.

We pull apart and I see his eyes glint in the dim lights.
"I wonder how he would react to that." He whispers, his breathe sending goosebumps through me.
"Not pleasantly, I can guarantee that." I smirk.
