Chapter 10

We walk and talk for a little until Laurence stops.
"Let's, uh, not go over there." He says, staring at three people sitting on the grass a few feet in front of us. There seemed to be two guys and a girl. One of them turned towards us and grins broadly.
"Good to see your around this park again Laurence." He hollers. Laurence growls, then reluctantly walks over. We follow. I look closer at them. One had black hair and dark blue eyes, another had red eyes and brown hair while the girl had silver hair with purple eyes.

They search Aph and I before glaring at Laurence. I raise an eyebrow. Who were they?
"Hey. Who are you guys?" I ask. Laurence shoots me a look, but I don't look back at him. I just focus on the one who approached us. He smiles.
"Haven't even introduced us to them, eh?" The black haired one said. Laurence sighs.
"I'd rather not introduce them to you guys at all." He spits back.

"Fine then. I'll be the gentlemen and introduce myself." He clears his throat and steps forward. "I'm Gene, leader of the shadow knights." He says curtly. I nod.
"Nice to meet'cha. I'm Y/N." I reply. He smiles.
"She nicer then you Laurence." He comments. I hear Laurence grunt, but I don't look at him.
"Sh-Shadow Knights?" Aphmau asks. He nods.
"That's right. If you want to know more you could always join us." He offers to Aph.
"That's enough Gene. Leave her alone!" Laurence snaps, stepping next to Aph.

"Well, if you need any close friends, your welcome to check us out." Gene says, completely ignoring Laurence. He looks to me.
"I like you. You could be a great addition to our group." He says, a smirk forming.
"As much as I'd love to, I can't. My brothers preoccupy most of my time." I say, apologetically. He nods.
"I understand. My offer stands though." I nod. He turns back to Laurence, who in fact, was quite mad.
"M-Maybe I will sometime. It sounds nice." Aphmau says, thinking about it.
"NO!" Laurence shouts. His loud voice shocks Aph, making her almost tumble into me. Gene sighs.
"You see, Laurence used to be in our group, but he wasn't 'hardcore' enough." He states.

Laurence looks to us with an angry look.
"Y/N, Aph, we should walk away." I give him a 'really' look, while Aph nervously shakes her head. We go to turn around when we get stopped.
"Wait!" We turn back to Gene walking up to us. He steps in front of me, ignoring the other two.
"You're cool. I'll see you around some time." He says, offering his hand. I look down, then back up. I smile and shake his hand.
"Sure, see ya." I say, dropping his hand and walking off with Laurence and Aphmau.

We walk back and stand on the bridge. Laurence turns to me.
"Why did you shake his hand?" He asks, almost shouting. I shrug.
"He seemed nice." He shakes his head. Then looks at both of us.
"His group and him are bad news. Stay away from them." Aph nods. I cross my arms.
"Bad history?" I ask. He nods sadly. I sigh. He won't stop me, but I should listen to his warning.

He explained the bad things they did, and how Gene was Dante's older brother. Aph and I listen in.
"You can talk to them, but I HIGHLY don't recommend it." He says, emphasizing 'highly'. We both nod.

"Hey!" We turn to see Garroth walking up the bridge towards us. Aphmau squeaks.
"Hey!" Laurence replays back.
"Hey." I say, waving a little. He seems surprised to see us.
"Oh Y/N, Aphmau, I wasn't expecting to see you here." He says, walking us to us. He turns to Laurence and glares.
"Did you invite me at this time so you could be alone with them?" He questions. Laurence chuckles.
"Maybe." Laurence snickers.
"Hey!" Garroth says back, almost offended. I laugh a little as I watch them sort of fight. Garroth turns to us.
"Well, I'm glad your both here. I'm.. actually kind of happy about this." He says, sincerely. I smile.

BEEP BEEP! We all spin to see a car honking at up.
"MIHA! I'm here to pick you up!" The women pauses. "WAIT! ARE THOSE BOYS YOUR WITH?!" She screams. She looks a lot like Aphmau...
"No Mom! You said you'd respect my privacy!" Aph yells back.
"I am! That's why I'm staying in the car!" The women yells back. Aphmau sighs and turns to us.
"Sorry about my mom. I'll see you guys later!" She says as she walks away.
"Bye Aphmau!" Garroth and Laurence say.
"See ya Aph." I yell.

They drive away, leaving me with Garroth and Laurence. I turn to face them. They were both looking at me. Well, this is awkward... I look at them both with a goofy grin.
"You like her." I coo. They both blink a few times.
"Maybe." They both say. I grin.
"I knew it!" I say, throwing a fist in the air.
"Why do you ask?" Garroth asks. I beam.
"I love interrupting peoples love life. It's pretty funny." I say giggling. They both smile.
"What if someone interrupted yours?" Laurence asks. I shrug.
"That will never happen." I state, crossing my arms.
"Why not?" Garroth asks, raising an eyebrow. I smile widely.
"Because silly, I'll never have a love life." They both look confused. I chuckle lightly.
"I'm meant to be forever alone boys." I say cheerfully.
"I doubt that." Laurence smirks. I shake my head.
"I don't." I beam.

I suddenly feel two arms wrap around my waist. I squirm as I get lifted up. I look at Garroth and Laurence's upset faces.
"About time I found you." A voice says. I roll my eyes.
"Let me guess. Kyle!" I guess. I know who it is. I get put down.
"Smart and beautiful, your on a roll." He smirks. His greenish brown eyes were bright and his brown hair was actually combed to the side for once. He wore beige shorts with a deep purple hoodie and sneakers. He glances at Garroth and Laurence.
"Hey fellas." He says smiling. They exchange 'hellos'. He turns to me.
"Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Zyler sent me to fetch you." I frown.
"That's a lot of trouble to go through." I say plainly. He shrugs.
"If you checked your phone then maybe I wouldn't need to get you. I don't mind it though." He says, winking.

I reach for my phone and slide it out of my pocket. I turn it on and see the flood of messages.
"Huh." I say, surprised as I scroll down my phone. I give up and slip it back into my pocket. I turn to the two boys.
"Sorry guys. I'll see you at school." I say, trying to be cheerful. They nod.
"It's fine. See you later." Garroth says, waving.
"Yeah, it was nice hanging out." Laurence says smiling.

I wave behind me and walk off with Kyle.
"Were you actually sent by Zyler?" I ask, seeing that most of those messages were from Nathan and Romeo. He shakes his head and wraps an arm around my shoulder.
"Nathan and Romeo were hassling me to get you." I sigh.
"Sounds about right..."
