Chapter 23

Your POV

I skate back home with Romeo beside me, with Jack and Kyle close behind us. The road was empty, so we rode on that instead of the dodgy sidewalk. Each crevice threatened to trip me over I swear... The late night wind felt nice as it flew through my hair. Kyle and Jack live a few blocks up from mine, so it was only natural that they tagged along.

"Hey, your house is near. Wanna walk?" Kyle suggests, coming up beside me. I nod and motion for the others to go to the curb. We ride up to the sidewalk and picked up our boards, now walking. We chat about how school is for Romeo.
"Math? What are you? A geek?" Jack says, chuckling a little. Romeo shrugs and smiles.
"What can I say? Easy subjects are fun for me." My jaw drops at the mention of math being an easy subject.

"The heck it is! You know how confusing that stuff is? Like, a lot!" I say, throwing my spare hand up.
"Yeah, like, why do they have to bring the alphabet into it?! It's hard enough as it is." Kyle says, pouting. I pat his back.
"That's the most accurate thing I've heard you say all afternoon." I say, proudly. He snickers and runs a hand through my hair.
"Whatever softy."

I turn just in time to see Garroth's house. I was about to focus back on the road when I see people walk out. It was Aphmau and her mom. She was wearing a cute dress. Pretty formal. Garroth also walks out with a woman. They seem to be saying goodbye. Kyle followed my gaze. I see his face fall.

I feel two hands lift me up from my waist and my board taken. I see that I'm getting hoisted up onto Kyle's shoulders. He was pretty tall so I felt like a giant. I turn away just in time to see Garroth's look at us and frown. I throw my hands in the air and cheer.
"I need to get taller. This is great!" I say cheerfully. I feel Kyle nod.
"Yeah, we can work on that. Maybe..."

Garroth's POV

Mommy and I show Aphmau and Sylvanna out. They were over for a dinner with us, because our moms knew each other and wanted to catch up. We were just dragged into it. I have to say, I didn't mind Aphmau coming over, not in the slightest.

I peer across the street to see Y/N on Kyle's shoulder. My heart feels like it dropped at the sight. She was having fun at least...
"I need to get taller. This is great!" I hear Y/N shout. She waved her hands in the air. I frown.

I hardly concentrate on the conversation at hand, I just keep glancing at them. Y/N says something to Kyle and I see him nod. He picks her up and puts her down. She grabs her board off of Romeo and high fives Kyle. She glances at me and tilts her head. She perks up and waves at me, smiling brightly. I smile and half wave back. She whips around and starts to talk to Romeo.

I watch as they all stop at Y/N's house. They seem to say goodbye and leave Y/N to walk to her door. I sigh and focus back on the moms talking, Aph just seemed to be listening awkwardly.
"Well, I'm glad you came. This was more fun then I anticipated." I say softly. She looks at me and blushes red.
"Y-Yeah! It's w-was really fun!" She agrees. I nod and watch as her mom pulls her away. We wave as they drive off.
"Gar Gar that was amazing! We are totes doing that again!" My mom shrieks. I nod.
"Definitely." I say as we head inside and close the door.

The bell rings and we all pile out, running every which way in order to get home.
"You know where Aph is?" I turn to see Laurence peering around. I shake my head.
"No. I'm sure she'll turn up around here somewhere." I was walking today with my brothers, since mommy was out and dad was out at work.

We both freeze when we see her. She was talking with Y/N, Kyle, Jack, Nathan and Zyler. We exchange a look as we walk over towards them.
"Kyle, I don't wanna hear it." Y/N says sternly. Kyle shrugs and looks her up and down.
"I don't know, I might enroll here. I just happen to love the uniforms." He says, smirking. I really didn't like the way he was speaking and looking at her right now. We walk up beside them.
"Kyle! I swear..."
"Hey." We both say. Y/N looks happy when we appear.
"Hey you two." She says. Aphmau blushes.
"H-Hi!" The guys greet us as well.
"What are you two doing here?" Laurence asks, suspicious. They shrug.
"Here to get Romeo." Jack says simply.

I see a hand grab Y/N's shoulder. We all turn to see Romeo.
"Sorry I'm late. We going now?" He asks Kyle and Jack. They nod.
"Yup. But I could stay awhile longer." Kyle says, turning around and eyeing all the girls. Y/N sighs and grabs his hair, pulling him to her level.
"Get your mind out of the gutters Donaldson." She says, almost jokingly. He yelps and she lets go.

He smooths his hair before crossing his arms and pouting. He grins.
"Aww! Is little Y/N jealous?" He cooes. She puts her hands on her hips and gives him a 'really' look.
"Just keeping your dirty mind in check." She says, grinning. He scoffs and walks off. Jack waves and walks away after him, with Romeo beside him. She looks pretty proud.
