I think Nick and Joe are warming up to us. At first I thought they’d be pissed at us since Krys basically took Matt from them but they don’t seem angry. When Jenny was starving herself, instead of fighting her, the brought her back to Le Café and saved her. I figured she wasn’t eating. I saw her throw away her lunch. She’s eating now though. Krys and Matt are spending a ton of time together. I’m surprised they’re not sick of each other by now. But whenever I see them they’re both red-faced looking at each other dreamily. I don’t even know if they’re going out of if they’re just really, really, really close friends.

After saving Jenny, Nick and Joe teleport back to the warehouse where they spend most of their time. When they arrive, they’re surprised to see Rob and Scotch waiting for them. They exchange nervous glances and look at Rob and Scotch. For a moment, there’s complete silence but then the screaming starts. “What the fuck was that?” Rob sputters. “What?” Joe asks innocently. “Why the hell would you save Jenny? I told you to kill her while she was defenseless. Now you lost your chance and you even felt the need to bring her back to her pathetic friends!” Rob screams. The two boys shudder. It’s true that Nick and Joe had noticed Jenny not eating. When they were talking about it Rob and Scotch overheard them and sent them to kill Jenny. “You’re going to regret ever having done that.” Scotch says softly. He pulls out a knife with a swastika on it. Nick and Joe exchange glances. “Oh shit.”

After Le Café closes, we all sit around cleaning and chatting. “You know, April 20th is coming pretty fast,” Rose begins nervously. She’s sweeping the floor. We all nod. April 20th. The day Rob and Scotch plan for us to all ready be dead and them to start their massacre. We prefer to call it Judgment Day. Seems legit. “Do you really think Nick and Joe can actually kill us? It’s the two of them against the six of us.” John points out. “And me!” Matt cheers. He’s sitting on a table swinging his legs back and forth like a little kid. “And Matt.” Krystal repeats to clarify. “But maybe we don’t need to fight them,” Jenny begins. She’s kind of a pacifist. “Oh, and why is that?” I ask her. She stares up at me.

“Well we got Matt to join our side, so maybe we can do the same with Nick and Joe. It’s not like they seem to want to fight us.” Jenny reasons. “And I don’t want to fight them.” Matt adds. “I do.” Hunter says softly. Although not the smallest, he’s the youngest and the most immature. I think he really, actually wants Joe to die. I can’t blame him. Joe killed Katy before Hunter could even really talk to her. “Well I agree with Jenny. We don’t need to fight them. Maybe we can reason with them.” Rose insists. “Reason with murderers? It’d be easier to . . . to . . .” Hunter stutters trying to think of a clever analogy. “Right . . . but yeah . . . they’re not as violent as we think.” John insists. Hunter shrugs. “I’m gonna go wash the dishes.” I announce ending the conversation. “Don’t forget to-” Rose begins but she never gets to finish. The front doors slam open and Nick and Joe enter. To say they looked bad would be a massive understatement.

They’re covered from head to toe with cuts, scratches and bruises. They both have at least one gunshot wound. I focus on even smaller details. They both have long shadows under their red, bloodshot eyes. They have dirt on their faces. Their pants are ripped at the knees. The have tears stains running down their cheeks. They have sad eyes. “Holy shit! Are you okay?” John asks shocked. “No! Shut up!” Joe screams. We all step back. “We have healing medicine so if you want-” Jenny begins but Nick cuts her off. “Shut it little bitch! We don’t want your shitty healing medicine!” he shouts. She backs away. “What happened to you?” Rose asks wide-eyed. “None of your business!” Joe yells pulling out his gun. So much for them warming up to us. We all know what happened. Or at least I think we do. Rob and Scotch probably found out they helped Jenny and beat them up. Bad.

Joe shoots at Hunter rapidly. He misses a few times but eventually hits Hunter’s shoulder. He falls against but manages to regain his balance. He massages his injury. “What the fuck is your problem?” I demand angrily. I lift my gem and transform flowed by the rest of Super Six. Nick throws his dagger at me. He just manages to hit my shirt and tear the fabric on the sleeve. I scream and run at him. Joe shoots at me and misses. Nick dives out of my way and kicks me down from behind. I randomly notice Krys and Matt sneaking off into the back room. I wonder what Nick and Joe will do if they see Matt. Take him back? Kidnap him? Kill him even? I doubt they would. They seem to like him too much. John helps Hunter up. Rose steps toward Joe. “Go away.” She growls. He shoots right at her chest. I think she must have gotten cat reflexes along with her DNA because she ducks below the bullet in the nick of time.

“You’re a quick bitch aren’t you?” Joe asks softly. Rose, sweet, kind and loving Rose, punches him in the face. Hard. Jenny stiffens. “Aren’t we good about not kicking people when they’re already down?” she mumbles softly. This gets Nick’s attention. If I were her I wouldn’t want that, being the primary reason he got beat up. Nick steps toward her slowly. She backs away but not before he can grab the fabric of her purple dress. He bunches it up in his fists and lifts her right off the ground. She kicks her feet back and forth trying to get out of his grip. “You little shit. You’re a pathetic cutter. I can’t believe you. Do you know why we look like we just barely survived tornado? You! I should’ve left you on the ground.” He growls in her ear. “Stop!” I yell stepping toward them. Nick drops Jenny back to the ground. She’s whiter than I’ve ever seen her. “You make me sick!” Nick screams teleporting away followed by Joe.

Everyone is shaken and scared. I need to comfort them. I start with Jenny. “You okay?” I ask softly and sweetly. My voice like moist, soft brownies. She nods her head and stands up weakly. I turn to the rest of Super Six. They all look the same. Pale-faced and shaking. “And . . . and you th-thought we could reason with them.” Hunter whispers. I shake my head. “I don’t know if I blame them.” I say softly. “What the hell! They just tried to kill us!” Rose screeches like the breaks on a bus. I nod slowly studying her bright green eyes. “But only because Rob and Scotch beat them up until they could barely walk and sent them here.” I theorize. Rose shrugs. “But then why don’t they just quit like Matt?” Krys asks. “They’re scared.” I predict boldly. “What makes you say that?” she asks me. “Well unlike Matt who was rebellious from the second Rob and Scotch kidnapped him, Nick and Joe were timid and obeyed their every command.” I reason. They all exchange glances. We have hearts. We consider their situation for once.
