Jenny

Things between me and Drew are okay again. He accepts my secret and we can be little love birds again. In English class we hold hands underneath our desks. We gaze into each other’s eyes and then turn back to the board. I never realized how much I missed him until now. Our romantic staring and hand holding is interrupted by a piercing alarm. A teacher runs into the classroom. “We’re under a lockdown! Someone brought a gun to school!” the teacher cries. Some people shriek and look around nervously. “Get under your desks. I’ll lock the door.” The teacher explains. Some students leap up and run at the door in an escape attempt. “No! The shooters are in the hallway!” the teacher yells. In all the chaos I run over to the window followed by Drew. “I believe I may have a clue of who our shooters are.” I mumble opening the window. We’re on the first floor so it’s not a big jump. We quickly leap out the window and elude the craziness of our English class. “That was scary.” I mumble after my feet hit the ground. “Where are the shooters?” Drew asks. “Up here!” a voice shouts. We look up to see Nick holding an orange gun.

I lift up my gem and transform. Drew looks at me dreamily for a moment but looks back up at Nick. He holds out his orange gun and shoots at us. “Take cover!” Drew yells grabbing a metal garbage can lid. He pulls me closer to him and shields us with the lid. The bullets pound against the lid but none of them pierce it. The bullets stop and Nick shakes his gun. It’s out of bullets. He tosses his gun away and flies down from the tree. Drew chucks the lid at him but it flies over his head. Nick looks at the two of us. “Leave us alone!” I yell. Nick steps forward and grabs me. “Let go of me!” I shriek. He flies up to tree with a tight grip on me. I squirm trying to get away but I can’t. “Jenny!” Drew yells. He grabs tree branches and begins to climb the tree. Nick and I are pretty high up. “How about I let you fall to your death, little bitch.” He mocks dangling me from the branch. I shriek. “Stop!” Drew yells still grabbing branches trying to get higher. I kick my feet back and forth trying to get away from Nick. “Let go of me!” I snap. Nick thinks for a moment. “Okay.” he says and drops me.

I scream and shut my eyes. I wait for the ground’s impact but it never comes. Drew catches me and pulls me toward him. I hug him tightly. We slowly climb down from the tree. Nick flies down after us. “Go away!” Drew yells. Nick lunges at us but I kick him in the balls. He groans and teleports away. Drew laughs. “You’re adorable when you get feisty like that.” He teases ruffling my hair. “Whatever. Thanks for saving me from falling to my death.” I giggle looking up at him. I put my hands on his shoulders and stand on my tip-toes. I feel his hands on my hips. We kiss for a long time. I’m glad I told him my secret now.
