This will be long, like, really long I'm sorry- Kubo

Every day Hoseok could choose to change into whoever he desired to be. Whichever nameless form he decided on would be his person for a total of 24 hours. His internal systems have been dangerously unstable since he was a teen. His mother was a scientist and decided to test a new drug on her son. He wasn't a son, he was more of a lab rat.

Hoseok's mother had been working on a drug that can change one's appearance, physically whenever they please, long as they take the pill within every 24 hours. Hoseok had no idea at the time, he was only 12 and fairly protected. He grew up, he began to forget who he even was. It started to become as if he was sick when he didn't take the drug within the time frame and he had been hospitalized several times in his youth. He wasn't normal anymore and when his mother died that meant he had no more but what she left him. Two years worth of drugs. Two years wroth of being someone else every 24 hours. Two years worth of not knowing who he is.

"It fucks with your psyche." He said softly, looking to his best friend, Jimin. Jimin had known about this, he's been friends with Hoseok since before the experiments.

"I know. But you've been handling it so well. I can't even imagine what kind of life it must be."

When he was about 16, Hoseok started to give his different people names. He would walk around, as someone new. He could live a completely new life every day. It even got to where he didn't need the drug. He's 18 now and he can live as whoever for however long it lasts, his system is so unstable that it's beyond repair but he's somehow able to live healthily.

"So you've been okay? It's almost impossible to find the son of Scientist Jung since he's presumed dead from experiments. I'm amazed that the government is protecting you, but if anyone else got a hold of this it would be the end as we know it I'd guess." Jimin sipped his coffee and pondered, working out his thoughts as he does. Hoseok loved that about him. Jimin never judged, he always supported him.

"Do you remember who I was, you know, before the drug?" Hoseok asked. Jimin's expression dropped, Hoseok asked this question so frequently and Jimin only had one answer.

"You were ambitious, since you didn't know much about the world. You'd always ask questions and you'd always look for answers. You had short hair that would barely meet your brows, your smile was the shape of a heart. You had a mole on the top of you lip, your eyes sparkled. You were a beautiful kid, Hoseok."

-a year later-

The solemn noted of a piano played. Rows and rows of people sat, weeping, hurting. But the one who hurt most of all, was the man with no name. The man with no identity who lived as Jung Hoseok. With every step to the dread that lie before him he could feel a piece of his heart shatter. No one knew who was the strange man walking up to the front of the congregation. They assumed a distant relative.

Park Jimin is dead. Killed in a freak accident. Murdered. That's what happened, he was murdered in a bad alley on his way to bring Hoseok medication for him. If only Hoseok went with him. If only Hoseok got it himself. Hoseok knew that the death of his only friend was his fault. If only it was him instead, no one would even know. He'd be an unknown man murdered at 2am on a dark street in Seoul. Only one knew him, and every being in the Korean government who was sworn to protect him to their best ability. If only he could protect Jimin.

Hoseok sobbed, as someone he didn't even care to name. He looked up to see a black casket before him. A large assortment of beautiful flowers lay on top of it. His favorite flowers. After the service was over, he was the only one who stayed behind.

"I'm so sorry" he fell to the floor before the casket, crying an ocean.

"I wish I could have protected you the way you protected me, you were my rock. You made me feel like I wasn't alone. You made me forget that I don't even remember what I look like anymore. I, Jung Hoseok, have lived a beautiful life because of you and...and...." He heaved, he felt his heart shattering. He thought he would die. If only he could just die.

After several minutes, he got up and was met with a large mirror. Hoseok never spared a glance at who he was these days. He took in the person before him. The man before him had hair that barely met his brows. Hoseok brought up his hand to his lip, a mole at the top. He looked into his person's eyes, they sparkled, or maybe they were just glossy from crying. Hoseok looked down and felt a smile creep upon his face. He felt his heart stop.

"A heart shaped smile...." Hoseok burst into tears of joy, his body was draped over the casket.

"Jimin ah! The last time I'm with you and I am myself! I am Jung Hoseok, I know who I am! Oh my God, Jimin if you could see me now. I love you , Park Jimin and don't you forget it! Even up there!" He threw his hands up to the sky, "in heaven or wherever the hell you are! Look at me, Park Jimin! It's me! I finally see myself!" Hoseok twirled around, basking in his joy. In himself.

Hoseok looked back in the mirror at himself and another figure caught his eye. He turned around to see a short man, probably twenty, standing before him.

"Sir, we are going to take the casket. I hope you've had enough time," The man was about to continue until Hoseok scooped him up in a big hug.

"Sir, sir, I'm Jung Hoseok! It's me, I'm no longer somebody, a stranger, I saw my best friend off as the boy he met when we were kids!" Hoseok picked him up and danced around. The man couldn't help but smile, it's rare to see people as happy as this Hoseok guy in a room alone with a lifeless body concealed just a few feet from them.

"People will come in and take the casket once you're done, I'd like to escort you out, Hoseok, it seems that you are close. " Hoseok looked over to the man who he was talking to, he really was cute for a guy who worked in a funeral home.

"While you escort me, would you like dinner to celebrate? You see, I don't know anyone." Hoseok took his chance, it was his final chance to make a friend.

"Uh, sure, I'll let you say your goodbyes then."

"By the way, what's your name?" Hoseok asked.

"Yoongi, Min Yoongi" The man smiled at him and sat in the back of the room.

"Ah, Jiminie, look at me. Jung Hoseok is making a new friend! I'll see you every day, without fail. Bye for now, my friend. Til death do us reunite" Hoseok kissed the casket and waved goodbye as if Jimin himself was waving back.

     -

Hoseok has been having fun with his second best friend, Yoongi. It's been abut two months since Jimin's death and Hoseok still feels like he's lost a piece of him. But he feels like that piece has been completed with Min Yoongi. His second best friend has turned out to be his first love. After that 24 hours, it took a long three hours of backstory and explanation and Yoongi told Hoseok that he loved him no matter who he was, as long as his Seokie didn't go off with someone else as a stranger to the world. Hoseok was amazed that he found someone who would protect him, and make I'm feel okay even if he's a genetical mess.

"I'll protect you, Min Yoongi."Hoseok held him close, petting his hair.

"I love you, Seok ah, I'll protect you with every piece of me."
