Announcement.
The Student Council regrets to inform that its president, Ms. Jennie Kim, took the decision to prematurely retire. For the first time in the history of this institution, the successor of this primordial post will be chosen by the people, through a democratic election, in which everyone has the right to participate as a candidate. All students are summoned to the conference room of the school for further explanations on its course tomorrow at 9:30.
Sincerly,
The Student Council
Lisa looked at the poster hung at the entrance door of the building she had classes in. It would have been hard to miss it considering how big it was.
"Looks like Jennie has made it after all. Good." She told herself, a mischievious smile growing on her lips. She wouldn't have thought she'd find her piece of the pie in that storyline, but these elections were promising to be a lot of fun.

"I thought it was a joke at the beginning," said Jisoo after giving Lisa her plate, "but it seems there really will be an election. I can't believe Jennie retired."
"Same here." Continued Chaeyoung. "The fact that she quit willingly is surprising enough of itself, but the whole election thing is just unthinkable. Like, how the director could have let this happen?"
"Maybe he changed his mind and decided to try something new. After all, he is the one who decided to open the school's door to everyone who wanted to enter ten years ago. We all know he is the least restrictive out of all his predecessors." Joined Mina.
"I agree with you, but this is just too much, even for him." The older girl shook her head. "Something sketchy must have happened behind the scenes."
"Stop being so paranoid Jisoo." The pink-haired girl scolded. "What matters now is who we are going to vote for when we know the candidates. Do you think there will be a campaign?"
The talks and ramblings didn't stop until the end of lunch time, and Lisa hadn't joined even once, knowing already everything about the events that were about to occur from now on. The elections were her idea after all.
Although she was confident about her plan, she was still surprised about the fact that Jennie had trusted her so easily. She must have been really desperate, thought the Thai girl, which made her a little bit sad. How could someone be so obsessed over something of so little importance? Being president literally meant nothing apart from gaining some social relevancy, establishing meaningless connection and eventually embellish a Curriculum Vitae. Boring.
She sighed. It didn't and shouldn't matter what were the brunette's reasons for desperately holding onto such a stupid title. Lisa only needed to use that to her advantage, and accomplish her plan. It wouldn't be easy, but it was worth trying.

Almost a minute had passed by without Jennie and Lisa saying a word. As always, they were sitting on opposite sides of each other, but for some reasons, the atmosphere had slightly changed. Jennie was probably the one responsible of that, as she didn't dare looking at her partner, and that awkwardness had somehow infected Lisa too, who wasn't sure on how to start the conversation.
"So about the election thing..." Jennie was surprisingly the first one to speak out, lifting her head, but still not looking at the girl in front of her.
"Yes?" Lisa responded slightly taken aback. She couldn't believe what was going to happen.
Was the mighty, the arrogant, the insensitive Jennie Kim about to...?
"Thank you. I honestly wouldn't have thought of it..."
Lisa had to bite the inside of her cheek to prevent herself from laughing. The expression on Jennie's face was just priceless.
"My my," she sighed in contentment, "who are you and what have you done to my precious partner?"
Jennie scoffed, folding her arms.
"There it is...I try to open up and this is what I get in return...But in all seriousness, why did you help me?"
Lisa pensively placed her head on her hand as she leaned over the table.
"Different reasons." She said absently before looking directly into the other girl's eyes. "But for you to open up to me might be the main one." She smiled innocently.
"W-what the...Ugh don't even dream about it Manoban. This was only a one time thing so don't expect us to suddenly become friends or..."
She didn't finish her sentence, and started to lightly blush as she suddenly looked away, annoyed, which took Lisa completely by surprise.
"Or?"
"Or whatever you had in mind." Jennie's voice wasn't very stable, betraying her obvious embarrassment.
Lisa widened her eyes and raised her eyebrows when realization hit her, but she didn't say anything.
"Anyway," finally added Jennie, becoming serious again, "let's begin."
They worked efficiently for an hour without talking more about the events that were about to happen.
As both left the library, the wind began to rise. By the time they got home, it was raining. And when they went to bed, the storm started to roar over the campus, almost as a prediction of what would tomorrow look like.
