A/N: Aw! Writing for Koda was so fun!! He's so adorable and shy heehee U//v//U Hope you enjoy!

Koda's heart thumped wildly as he silently watched you from behind a tree. Your hair was listlessly blowing in the faint wind, your pink lips formed the sweetest of smiles while your (e/c) eyes drooped contently. A combination that could've only been crafted by the heavens. Koda couldn't help but be completely infatuated with you. You were so perfect...

Well.

Except for one thing.

"Oh, hello, big guy," you said, lifting up the hand that was hidden on your opposite side.

Koda's stomach knotted, did a 360 degree flip, and finally sank into his bowels at what was resting on your dainty hand. A huge, disgusting, horrifically frightening stag beetle. Koda gulped as he watched the menace rear its pair of huge pincers, his knees turning to pure jelly.

Dammit all! Why did the woman of his dreams have to have the ability to control bugs!? What luck he had!

Still, Koda's gaze directed back to your face. Your eyes were filled with such happiness as you watched the little stag perform tiny somersaults in mid-air. Koda furrowed his brow. He obviously couldn't deny the happiness you felt interacting with the icky thing. It was much like him and animals. Being with all those adorable creatures filled him with the greatest joy.

Koda sighed and quietly backed away, leaving you and your exoskeleton friend to play.

SNAP

'OOF!'

Koda looked down and begun to sweat wildly as his eyes met with the large fallen branch that lay broken under his big dumb clumsy foot.

"Who's there?" you said, your beetle friend flying away as you stood from your spot.

Koda panicked, looking around for a place to hide but it was to no avail as he heard your voice again,

"Koda? What're you doing here?"

Koda swallowed hard and swiftly turned to face you with a heavy blush on his hardened cheeks,

'I-I was just...taking a stroll! Yea a stroll!' he said with his frantic gesturing.

"Oh," you smiled with a radiant aura, "What a coincedence so am I."

Koda scratched the back of his head frantically, his heart thumping so loud he thought it was fireworks booming in his ears,

'A-Ah! Ok then! I'll see you--'

Suddenly your face beamed as your eyes latched onto one of Koda's shoulders,

"Oh! Look at that!"

Koda raised a brow and turned to his shoulder.

A butterfly...

A BUTTERFLY!?

An loud scream escaped Koda's jagged mouth as he instantly fell flat on his butt and scooted himself away, the butterfly having left as soon as soon as he had screamed.

The fluttering bug made its way to you and landed on your hand, content with its new landing pad.

"Aw don't be scared. She won't harm you," you said, taking a step forward.

Koda shook his head frantically, a tiny squeak leaving him. You furrowed your brows in pity, a gentle smile resting on your face. You kneeled down and admired the beauty that was slowly oscillating her wings up and down.

"Don't you think her wings are beautiful?"

Koda's mouth parted slightly at the soft nature of your voice. He reluctantly looked back at the butterfly, his lips suddenly pursing shut. Her wings were a vibrant ombre of violet and periwinkle, the small amount of the sun's rays making them shimmer as if they were imbued with tiny gemstones.

You noticed his weakened guard and shuffled a little closer, a reassuring expression backing you.

"See? Not all bugs are scary."

Koda blinked and sat up correctly, his nervous gaze zooming between you and the butterfly.

"Give me your hand," you said lowly, holding out your hand invitingly.

Koda hesitated, already knowing what you were gonna do.

"Its ok," you whispered, "Just trust me."

Koda strayed his attention to your glittering eyes, a sudden wave of calm rushing over him and subdueing his shaking fears. He nodded and placed his hand in your own. With a gentle hand, you placed the butterfly on Koda's hand. The boy squirmed at the sensation of the butterfly's thin legs crawling on his skin, but somehow staring at her pretty wings distracted him from that feeling. You chuckled, your hand still cupping his for mere emotional support.

Just then the bug fluttered up and landed on Koda's shoulder again, her wings tickling his cheek.

"I think she likes you," you said with a giggle.

Koda sweat for a moment, but then his face suddenly bloomed as he realized that your hand was practically holding his. He blinked franctically to which you noticed, smirking in flattery. It wasn't like you hadn't noticed Koda's wandering gazing at you before. It was sweet, and in all honesty, you thought he was adorable. He was always so nice and shy, a sensitive man to be sure.

You slipped your hand from his, somewhat missing the warmth of it as you did. You stood once again and dusted off your skirt,

"We should get back. Break's almost over."

Koda nodded and also got to his feet, the beautiful butterfly taking her leave. Koda watched as she fluttered away, a bittersweet feeling welling in his chest.

"C'mon, Koda," you said, already ahead by a few steps.

Koda snapped out of his daze and ran to catch up to you, giving a soft smile despite the blush on his cheeks. You recriprocated and thus you two were back on your way to class.

Though, deep down both of you knew this wouldn't be the last time you'd meet each other on a stroll.
