A/N: It's been awhile since I updated! Sorry about that. I've just barely gotten back into writing after a personal semi-hiatus. Anyway, I hope you enjoy some more lovely Iida (◍•ᴗ•◍)

The hard, labor-filled day at work had finally ended for Tenya at 2 AM. To say he was exhausted was a complete understatement, yet he was still standing on his screaming legs. Tenya buried his phone out of his pocket with baggy eyes, the brightness of the screen making him wince. He had a lot of messages, but none from you. He frowned a bit, figuring you were already asleep at this hour.

Great. Another day I can't even say hello.

Tenya huffed and directed his gaze to the train's window to his right, watching the city lights go by like meteorites falling sideways.

Of course Iida loved his job. It was his lifelong dream to continue the Iida family legacy and it made him more than ecstatic to perform for the good of his country, but...he did feel guilty at times for leaving you alone at the house. Granted, you did have your cat, Kiko, but he imagined that you were still lonely. You always told him you understood his responsibilities and we're proud to have a hero for a husband, but Tenya could at times see sadness dwelling in your eyes.

He was more than anxious to get home to you.

Tenya exhaled softly as he finally entered his home. Kiko mewed from his bed in the living room, which made Tenya smile a little. He expelled his coat and quietly shuffled to the room at the end of a small hallway. As he did, he unbuttoned his shirt and slowly slipped it off, immediately tossing it aside once he entered the bedroom. Any other day he would've folded it and placed it back in the dresser, but he was just way too tired.

With heavy eyes, he then loosened his belt and let his slack fall to his feet, the buckle making a slight jingle as they did.

Tenya heard a faint him from the mass inside the sheets of the bed, finally lifting the covers and nestling into the warm bed.

"...Tenya?" you said so softly it calmed the tired man just from hearing it.

Tenya rolled over and instantly felt you, instinctly pulling you into his body,

"Yes, it's me," his lips grazed your forehead,

"I'm sorry for waking you..."

He could hear you breathe for a minute before you spoke again,

"It's okay...I'm happy you're home," you sighed and traced your finger along the skin of his chest,

"I was getting worried."

Tenya moved his hand to your waist and now fully planted his lips on your forehead. You pulled back though, which confused Tenya for a second before he felt a kiss on his neck. It was dark, be he definitely knew his face was flushed red at that moment.

"I really missed you," you said, your breath right on his collarbone.

Tenya swallowed,

"I...missed you as well, (name)," Tenya's fingers lifted the hem of your tank top only slightly,

"I'm sorry for always being home at inconvenient times. You don't have to tell me, but I know it--"

Before he could finish, you touched a finger to his lips,

"Please, don't apologize," you brushed a finger against his hair,

"This is your dream, Tenya. I may get worried or even scared, but I'll always support you no matter what."

Tenya grasped your hand and looked down at you in the subtle cast of the moonlight. You looked so peaceful, so content. You whispered something softly before Tenya leaned down to kiss you. It was a tender, yet firm kiss. It felt so nice and comforting.

Tenya always felt like you were his escape from everything else in his life, but he realized that the same applied for you.

Tenya was your rock, the only person who made you feel truly safe.

He was your one and only refuge.
