How Will We End?

Amethyst's POV
I sighed in my head, "Dammit Lewis for waking up so early." I thought. Lewis drove down the dark, empty streets. We were wasting time since going back to sleep was out of the question. I sat in the back with Jay as she dozed of once or twice. I wrapped my arm around her and whispered, "Go on to sleep I'm here you'll be fine." She snuggled into me and I listened as her breathing slowed. "So how long has this been going on for?" Lewis asked. I glanced up, "About three to four months." I replied. He said nothing and continued to drive. I laid my head back and closed my eyes.
~8:30 that morning~
As I changed into my swimming suit, I listened to Lewis and mum talk. I sighed remembering this morning. "Amethyst!" my mother called, I shook the thoughts out of my head and went on.
"I don't want to get in. It's probably freezing" Jay protested as I tried to get her into the water. I sighed, "Fine" I said. I climbed out of the water and walked behind her. I pushed her in and she screamed. "Amethyst you're a butt!" Jay yelled at me. I smiled and walked in beside her. "I know, I'm also evil" I said with an evil grin. She pushed me and started blushing, "Shud up!" she mumbled as she hid her face. I laughed and took her hand. We walked into the water a bit more and started splashing each other. After about an hour or two of swimming around and splashing each other, we got out and headed to the small playground near by. As we swung Jay turned to me, "Amethyst... if we do this whole nighttime thing, promise me you won't leave me alone. I'm tried of being alone." she said. I smiled, "Of course babe. It's no fun when your alone anyway." I replied happily. Jay smiled and we kept swinging.
As I jumped off the swing I wiped the sweat off my face and turned to Jay, "let's get back in the water. It's to hot out here." I said and Jay nodded. I took her hand and she got off the swing. As we headed towards the lake to swim a few guys approached us. "Hey you're pretty" one said to Jay. "Yea but look at her friend." Another commented. I squeezed Jays hand and we walked past them. I sighed and we entered the cooling water.

My mother called Jay and I over after who knows how long. I took Jay's hand an we walked to our campsite. "Girls eat something then you can get showers." My mother said as we sat down. I nodded and we began eating dinner. We all talked and laughed and after Jay and I raced down to the showers.
After we got back to our campsite, we found my mother sitting at the picnic table about to cry. "What's wrong mum?" I ask as Jay and I sat down. Mother looked at Jay worriedly then replied, "Jay... Your father wants you back. His attorney claims that as long as you're under 18 you must go back. Until they can get a full confession from your father of the beating." I looked at Jay as tears streamed down her face. As I went to hug her she stood up. She had a dark expression, "I'm going to bed. Goodnight." she said quietly and headed to our tent. I glanced at my mother before running after Jay. As I entered our tent Jay hugged me tightly. As she let go I wiped her tears then sat down. "Dammit!" I yelled, "Why would he want you back I though we were done with that idiot!"
