Dammit I Love You!

Amethyst's POV
I stared, eyes wide, "I-I won't hurt you" I whispered and I wrapped my arms around her waist, "I never intended to even get close to it. I just want you to smile." I rested my head on her back and waited for a reply. "I-I've just had a bad past with these things.." Jay said. "I'm just scared of it happening again." I turned her so she would face me. Her hand covered her eye as tears streamed down her face. With the sight of her like this apart of me died. I hugged her tightly, "I won't let you get hurt again." I said and I smiled up at her. She smiled brokenly back down at me. I leaned in, our faces only inches apart, and as our lips barely brushed my mother called us for diner. "Damn" I mumbled under my breath. I wiped away Jay's tears and smiled "let's go before she finds out what we've been reading." I said "Y-yea" Jay stuttered. We left my bedroom and went to the kitchen. After diner I took Jay's hand and lead her out. "Where are we going?" she asked I giggled, "Somewhere special" I replied. With that we walked on in silence, through the woods behind my house. Then we stopped at a pond where the cherry blossom trees dropped their petals onto the water and the setting sun glistened on the water. I looked back at Jay and smiled, she stared at the pond with a smile on her face. "Do you like it? It took me a while to find." Jay looked over at me, " It's so beautiful." She replied. I took her hand once again and took her to a hidden spot. There was a blanket laid out and a few candles set out. I took Jay over and we sat down. After a while we were still there even after the sun set. We were laying there laughing until we couldn't breathe. After we calmed down we sat there staring at each other. Then we leaned in closer and closer. Our faces were only inches apart then centimeters. I was going to close the space between us when a gun shot went off and we both jumped only Jay just happened to be sitting nearest to the pond and fell in. It was fall so the water was pretty cold. I quick grabbed any park of her I could which just happened to be her wrist. As I pulled her up she screamed which scared me even more. As I struggled to pull her out she reached up with her other hand and I finally managed to pull her out. We fell back and she landed on top of me. She was cold I could feel her shivering. "Come on let get ba-" I was cut off by her lips crashing into mine. We kissed for a bit until finally breaking apart for air. "Are you alright?" I asked. She looked at me questionably. Both of our faces were red. I took her wrist and pulled up her hoodie sleeve. Her are was lined with cuts and bruises. "I'm sorry" she whispered still breathless from our kiss. "Why?' was all I could get out. "No one cares" she said as her shivering got worse. I stood up and yelled "DAMMIT I LOVE YOU!" she stared at me as I took her hand and wrapped her in my coat and the blanket we sat on. "Amethyst will you be my gi-girlfriend?" Jay stuttered as we walked hand in hand back to my house. "Why would I want a role I already have?" I asked. Jay smiled as I kissed her cheek. "Dammit I love you to" she whispered.
