Get Me Out of This Place

Jay's POV
As Taylor and I walked back into the room K was sitting in the chair staring out of the window. I turned out the lights, leaving only a small glimmer of light from out in the hall peaking in. "It's easier to see the stars this way," I said remembering a few nights earlier.
~A Few Nights Earlier~
I climbed out of bed, it was about 3 in the morning. Alexander wasn't in his regular chair, "guess he went home." I whispered. I sighed as I sat down in the chair. I pulled the blanket that Taylor had given me over my shoulders. It was cold in my room. I sighed as I looked over the city. The lights from the street lamps and buildings lit up the ground below, but the stars about were shining as brightly as they could. It was almost as if they were having a competition. My door was wide open, and the hall light filled most of the room, until the door closed. I looked back and saw a dark figure moving closer. Fear ran through my body as memories of my father rushed back to me, my body shook, and I was paralyzed. "Shh don't worry it's just me." Taylor whispered as he swiftly picked me up. He sat down and pulled me close. "I was scared." I whispered as I snuggled into his chest. He gently stroked my head, "You have nothing to fear as long as I'm around. I'll protect you, because you see..." Taylor started then stopped. I looked up at him, and in the dim light of the moon, he looked almost mystical. taylor sighed and held me closer," that night when I had rescued you, I started thinking about moving back to my home town. It was about 6 when I got the call and about 6:30 before I arrived. I jumped out if the truck and heard screams. I was afraid, but I ran in. The first person I saw was you. I picked up your seemingly lifeless body and carried you outside to paramedics. When I ran back in another firefighter had already gotten the man. With no one left I came back out and started trying to put out the fire that had engulfed the house. I got home after that and memories of my family ran through my head. For a while I sat in my living room drinking. I had no family to go to. So I sat there for hours contemplating weather or not I'm actually needed on Earth anymore. My answer was no. I got out of my chair and went to the bathroom. I dug through the cabinets until I found some medication. I poured out all of the pills that were in the bottle. I was just about to take the pills when your face appeared in my mind. I don't know why but then my body started moving on it's own. I dropped all the pills and went to my car. I drove all the was to this hospital and asked about anyone who was brought in last night. The woman replied by saying plenty of people came in. I made my question more specific an asked again. I asked if anyone came in from a house fire. The woman then explained that two people had. After a while she told me the two rooms. I went in and the first room I came to was yours. I saw you there in bed and you didn't know me yet but I just knew that I had found my life.... You, Jay, you are my life. The love of my life. The only girl I will ever want to be with... Truthfully I don't know why I came here this late at night. I wanted to see you, now that I've seen you. I don't want to leave." Taylor finished with a slight smile. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him. Tears were falling from my eyes but I didn't care. I smiled ,"Taylor McNabb, you are my hero. I don't want you to leave, so maybe we can stay like this for a while. I wouldn't like it any other way." I proclaimed. Taylor held me close and kissed my forehead, "Alright love." He said. That's how we stayed.
~Back to the Present~
K looked back at me and smiled. "Alexander went on his date. The guy came up, his name was, umm, oh, his name was Dwayne." I went and sat on the bed. "That's great. Shouldn't you be getting home though? I mean you have a rambunctious kitten right?" I said. K stood and smiled, "You're right. Bye guys. Don't spend to much time in the dark. If ya know what I mean." K said with a smile and a wink. As she left she turned on the light.
I sighed and laid back, right as the door clicked closed a nurse walked in," Ah miss Jay-lynn, it seems like your paper work has been finished and you'll be able to leave tomorrow. Just be sure a nurse checks you before you leave. Other than that have a nice night." The nude said and sat some papers besides the bed. I smiled at Taylor, "looks like it's just us for now, and tomorrow I'll be free." I said. Taylor returned my smile and took my hand, "How long have we been together?" He asked. I looked up and then replied, "Almost a month I think." Taylor looked up at me and nodded. Then he kissed me, "Well then, how about some food?" He asked as he pulled the tray close to me. I sighed," The food is another thing I won't miss." I said with a smile.
