Jay's POV
I couldn't move or see ,but I could hear. I heard yelling, and sirens, but couldn't really put words together. All I heard was muffled yells and calls. In all actuality I was just trying to keep my mind away from pain. My body hurt so much and it only got worse. Then I was just floating in nothingness again. I had lost all track of time ,hell I didn't care. I just floated there in the darkness.
Then I opened my eyes. The room was dim and I heard the rhythmic beeps of the many machines I was attached to. I looked around the room as best as I could and saw a familiar Of Mice And Men hoodie, "Almex" was all I could whisper. I then heard a slight giggle and then he stood. "Well yes Miss Jay?" Alexander said jokingly. I smiled slightly and Alexander hugged me. It hurt when he even slightly touched me. "Gosh you have no idea how worried I was when I was told you were in the hospital." Alexander said, "I've only been here an hour and I can already smell the sickness and drugs. they called me at 3 this morning to tell me you were in a fire and had been hospitalized." After he finished a nurse came into the room and was surprised to see me awake. "Oh gosh! Dear me! I didn't think I'd find you up and looking around. I'll inform the doctor immediately." With that she left.
After 5 weeks in the hospital I was able to talk and in fact I've met the man who carried me out of the burning house. He came with flowers and introduced himself. His name was Taylor McNabb. He seemed sweet but I wasn't ready to go through another Sean. Which, Sean had been put in the hospital as well. Although it wasn't as bad as me so he was released earlier. Alexander was angry when he heard what had happend, but still made a joke about it. So far Taylor and I have become great friends, the kind you give ridiculous nicknames to each other. Yea, it's fun. He comes and sees me everyday. I've been going through therapy and I was told to write my days down in a notebook. This is my first entry, I'm not sure if I want to write more or not. ~Written March 17, 2014. By Jay (why do I care about last names?)
I put my book and pen on my bedside table and picked up my phone instead. I scrolled through all the different YouTube videos until I found one I wanted to watch, although 5 minuets in Taylor walks in the door. He was dressed in his normal ripped jeans and Michigan Fire Department shirt. I smiled as he walked in, " I thought I'd come see my favorite girl on fire. Taylor said with a wink. I smiled and replied sarcastically ," Well girl on fire is a new one." Taylor smiled and asked ", so when are they going to let you out of here?" I shrugged and sighed," I hope it's soon. I'm done with this room." Then Taylor took my hand in his," Jay, promise me this. I promise you that no matter the marks on your skin or the flaws in your perfection, I won't leave you out alone anymore. If you promise me to be my girlfriend. I know you've been lied to and you don't want to fall if no one will catch you, but I'm here right now and will be forever promising you that I will catch you. I won't let you fall onto the hard ground again."
I looked into his green eyes and smiled," I've told you countless times I didn't want a relationship. Yet you come back with even sweeter words and stronger promises. I'm going to trust you, and if you make me regret it then I'm not going to stop Alexander from doing what he wants." I said with a smile, "that's a yes" I whispered. Taylor laughed and hugged me.
