Amethyst's POV

~3 months later.~
I sat on the edge of the creek that ran somewhere in the woods behind my house. I skipped rocks while my thoughts ran wild, "Why can't I decide? Why am I like I am? Why do I still feel alone?" I asked myself but yet I had no answers, then I felt my phone vibrate. I jumped and fell into the creek and the moment my feet hit the water I jumped up as high as I could ,and ran out of the creek. I sat on the bank panting as I pulled a couple leaches off of my feet. I pulled my phone out of my soaked pocket hoping that it didn't get wet. I looked at my phone at dirty creek water dripped from it. "Just my luck" I mumbled, I pushed the power button praying it turned on. "YES!!!!" I yelled as my phone turned on.
-I'm locked in my room-
I read Jay's message over what seemed like a million times in my head.
-Are you alright?-
I asked, afraid of the answer.
-I'm scared Amethyst-
I ran up to the house to get the four wheeler keys from my mum. I was also scared ,but it was for Jay not myself.
Jay's POV
I hid in my room as my drunken father threw bottles at the entrance of my room. "Come down here and take this beating like an adult!" He yelled, I cowered in fear as I messaged Amethyst.
-I'm scared Amethyst-
Then the bottles stopped being thrown and the house fell silent. Then I heard metal hit the attic entrance I jumped and started whimpering as tears streamed down my face. This all started over a dust bunny.
~20 minuets earlier~
"Jay get your ass down here and clean up this mess!" my father yelled. I climbed down the ladder and followed the sound of his voice. I entered the bathroom where my father stood holding a beer bottle next to where the toilet had overflowed. I grabbed the plunger and started to unclog it, and after a bit it finally went down and all that was left was the water. I grabbed some old used towels and started wiping up the water, then my father grabbed my head and started wiping it up with me. I screamed as he pulled out multiple strands of my hair. Then he pointed out a dust bunny that had been washed out of hiding by the water. "You missed something!" he yelled then threw me down into the water. I struggled to get up but he stomped my back and I fell. He then grabbed a bottle full of soap and beat my head with it. My vision blurred as I tried to stay conscious, because if I fell unconscious I might not wake up. I once again struggle to stand this time he let me up. I turned to run and as I did he hit me over the head with his bottle. The glass shattered as he hit me repeatedly. I finally got to my knees and tried to crawl away, but blood from my head blurred my vision more than it already was. My father laughed and started to leave. I could hear silverwear being shuffled around. I climbed to my feet and made my way as fast as I could up to my room. "Dammit! Running will only make things harder!" That's when he started throwing bottles.
Amethyst's POV
I raced down the road trying to get to Jay as fast as possible. Soon enough I arrived at her house. I jumped off and ran into the house. I burst through the door and I was met with Jay's father throwing anything he could find at the attic door. Then he threw a pot at me. It him my stomach and I grabbed it in pain. I hissed but regained my stance. I ran at her father attempting to tackle him. Once I did he pulled out a knife and stabbed me. I rolled off of him and curled up as I screamed in pain. He stabbed me a few more times before turning his attention back to Jay. I grabbed the closest item to me and hit him over the head. He fell over and I took my chance to try and get Jay out. I knocked until she opened the door and I jumped in collapsing on the floor as I did. She rushed to my aid instantly. " Amethyst? Amethyst! Come on you've got to get up!" Jay begged. I coughed up a little blood and smiled. "Dammit what were you thinking!?" Jay asked her tears fell. "I thought I could help" I replied still smiling. Jay reached into my pockets ,as if she knew which pocket my phone would be in, and dialed 911. I touched her face, and wiped her tears. "I'll be fine" I said. "Just smile. I want to see your beautiful smile." And she did, for once I saw her smile. Within 10 minuets police and paramedics were here. I was lifted onto a gurney and put in the ambulance as I listened to my mothers crys. Jay was also put in an ambulance but no one was there worried for her. "I'm worried about you Jay!" I yelled, one of the paramedics said, "I'll be sure she gets your message" and off she went.
