Chapter Thirty-One.
I SAT ON THE bathroom toilet as I read the directions on the box, "Why is this so hard?" I whispered to myself. I opened the foil that held the test. I followed the instructions and put the test onto the bathroom counter. I looked at my phone and stared at the time just waiting for the five minutes to pass by---it sure as hell felt like the longest wait ever.

The five minutes had gone by and I was scared to even look at the test. I looked down at the purple stick and on it read a positive sign. I was surprised---I knew for a fact I wasn't ready for another kid. I couldn't believe what was happening right now. Why did I always get my self in these type of situations, I wasn't ready to raise a kid alone, again.
I love my son to death but it was hard...very hard to raise him alone especially when most of my family ain't even support the decision of me keeping him.
I cleaned up the mess, before walking into my room and hiding the test and the box in my nightstand. I walked out into the living room to see my son doing his homework on the couch. "How is your homework looking?" I sat down beside him and skimmed over this homework, it was so much different from when I was in his grade. I ain't know what the hell I was looking at.
"Do you understand?" Khalil asked. "You're looking at the paper like you're confused."
I chuckled to myself. "Boy, when y'all start learning this in math?"
"I don't understand it myself, so you don't have to feel bad," Khalil answered.
"You'll get it don't worry about it," I kissed his forehead. "How is school going?"
Khalil smiled. "School is going good, all my teachers said that I'm doing great in their classes." Khalil grabbed his backpack and pulled out an envelope. "We got our progress reports."
Khalil handed me the paper, I opened it and skimmed through his grades. I was very impressed by how he was doing in school. I was a proud mother right now. "Wow these grades are looking amazing, keep up the great work baby boy." I smiled down at him. "Just for this we can go and do whatever you want tomorrow."
"Really?" Khalil asked. "I really want to go watch that new Avengers movie, all my friends said that it was cool."
"We could do that if that's what you want to do," I said.
"Thank you," Khalil looked down at his hands like something was on his mind. "Mommy, can I ask you something?"
"Anything baby," I smiled at him, I don't ever want him feeling like he can't talk to me about anything especially when something is bothering him. "Talk to me."
