Chapter Twenty-Six.

I WAS SITTING on the couch playing the game while my daughter was sitting at the table eating her lunch. "You good over there baby girl?" I got up and walked over towards her.

"Yes I'm good daddy," She smiled. "This Mac and cheese is really good. You know how much I love Mac and cheese."

I kissed her on the cheek. This girl meant so much to me, I couldn't imagine my life without my daughter. She really changed me—that's why I try and be the best father I could to this little girl because I know what's it's like to not have a father figure in my life. "Make sure you eat all of your food before your mom comes to pick you up."

"Why can't I stay with you daddy?" She asked, sipping some of her water. "I never get to spend the night with you."

"Daddy just got a lot to handle right now," I looked down at her, I did want her to stay with me but it just wasn't that easy. "But, I'll promise you this. We can go out for ice cream tomorrow. How does that sound?"

"That sounds good," She smiled. "Can I get strawberry ice cream?"

"You can get any ice cream you want," I said.

She picked up her bowl and placed it into the sink. "I want to go play with my toys in the backroom, can you come to get me when my mommy is here?"

"You can go play," I said. "I'll get you when she's here."

"Okay, daddy," She made her way into the back room, leaving me standing there. There was just so much shit that I had to handle— shit with Rakeem was getting way outta hand.

I grabbed a beer from out of the fridge and made my way back towards the couch and grabbed the blunt from off of the table. Placing the blunt between my lips, I inhaled. There was a knock on the door, causing me to get up.

I opened the door to see my baby momma on the other side. "Wassup?"

"Hey, Bishop," She rolled her eyes before walking past me. "Where's my daughter?"

"Damn, you ain't gotta act like that," I stared at her. "She's in the back room. She was asking when she would be able to stay the night over here...do you think that could ever be possible?"

"I don't know Bishop," She answered. "I haven't thought about that, and I don't plan on doing it right now. I don't want her associated with whatever you got going on."
