Chapter Nineteen.
I WAS SITTING at the living-room, watching television, just thinking about things when Kehlani came into the house holding onto some food. "Wow, look who decided to come home. I don't ever see you anymore." I turned around and faced her. "Did you bring me some food?"
"Oh, stop being so dramatic," Kehlani joked. "We just saw each other this morning, and I forget all about you. This food is for me."
"Well damn," I held my chest. "Who you snuck out to see this morning?" I smirked at her causing her to roll her eyes playfully.
"Just a friend," Kehlani stated, causing me to get up from the couch. "I met him at the club when I went out with my girls and we just been kicking it since."
I stared at her, making her stare back at me. "What?" Kehlani asked.
"Oh, nothing," I smiled. "I just haven't seen you this happy in a long time; it's great seeing you like this. So, when am I going to meet the lucky guy?"
"Soon, I promise," Kehlani opened her food container before grabbing a fork. "I'm just trying to get to know him more before I start bringing my family into this. But, I promise it'll be soon. He is a good guy for sure though."
"What's his name?" I asked.
"None of your business," Kehlani joked, causing me to chuckle. "I already know you girl; you're going to get his name and try to figure out what he looks like. When the time is right, I'll introduce him to you."
"Alright, alright," I stared down at her food. "Your food sure does look good, lemme' get some."
"Priya," Kehlani cried out as I took a bite from her food. "Your hungry ass always want somebody food. I can't have nothing to myself around here man."
"Oh, poor baby," I smiled. "You acting like I dun' ate all of your food off your plate, relax fat ass."
Kehlani shook her head. "Shut up; you talked to Gael lately?"
I let out a soft chuckle. "Yeah, Gael stopped by this morning. I'm glad that he's dealing with everything better. He's supposed to stop by again later on, but I don't know when."
"That's good," Kehlani continued to eat her food. "How are you holding up? Have you talked to Chris? There was news going around that his cousin got shot, that's seriously fucked up."
"I heard, I tried contacting him but he's not answering the phone," I answered, I hoped everything is alright with him. I know how much his cousin means to him and I don't want him to feel like he's dealing with this all alone. "I hope that he's okay. I wish I were there to comfort him through these rough times."
