Chapter Sixteen.
I HAVEN'T BEEN to church in quite awhile. I really want to start going every Sunday like I used to before I went off to college. I've almost lost faith in everything, but I'm blessed with everything, I need. I am working hard towards everything, I want. And I thank God for what I have. "Wassup, Priya?" I turned around to see Chris standing behind me. "I didn't know you were attending church today."
"Hey," I smiled, walking beside him into the church. "I want to start getting back into attending church on a regular, this is what kept me at ease."
"I feel you," Chris smiled, walking beside me. I spotted my Grandmother sitting next to my granddad.
"Grandma," My grandmother looked up at me smiling. I kissed her cheek as she continued to smile. "I don't know if you remember my friend Chris."
"I remember him," My grandmother lifted up from her seat before giving both of us a hug. "How is everything going son? Is everything going alright at home?"
"Hey grandma," Chris smiled, returning the hug. "Everything is fine, thank you for asking. Do you mind I join you guys today?"
"You don't even have to ask," My grandmother patted the seat for us to sit down. "You can join us anytime you want. Curtis, do you remember Chris?"
"How can I forget my granddaughter's boyfriend?" My grandfather held out his hand for him to shake it. "Her father was about to take off his head."
I chuckled a bit at Chris's facial expression, my grandfather always made things awkward. "How are you today son? Staying out of trouble, I hope?"
"I'm doing good," Chris answered. "I'm staying out of trouble."
"That's good," My grandpops stated. "It's sad out here on these streets, more and more kids are getting killed each and every day and I don't want you getting placed in that situation. I want you to keep striving towards that goal of yours, God always provides bigger and better opportunities than you'll ever imagine."
"That's right," My grandmother smiled while shaking her head. "God always has your back."
I smiled causing Chris to smile. "Thank you so much for the kind words," Chris thanked my grandparents before we both sat down and watched everyone take their seats.
"You look really nice today," Chris whispered in my ear causing me to smile a bit. "Not saying that you don't look nice every day."
I chuckled. "I understand what you meant, thank you. You don't look too bad yourself."

"Don't worry about tomorrow cause tomorrow will take care of itself!" The pastor's voice echoed through the speakers. The congregation started clapping their hands. "Watch this now, there's a great effectual door open for you with which has many adversaries."
