Chapter Twenty-Five.
I MISS THE waymy life used to be, there's is just too much shit going on that I can barely handle. I'm finally letting go of everything, there's so much more to life than wishing I could make someone come back to me. I wasted too much time already, overthinking and blaming myself for my mistakes. It's just time for me to move on with my life either them being in it or without them. There's so much a person can take and I'm just not sure about anything anymore.
"Son, I would like you to meet someone," My pops came into the door, followed behind a woman. "This is my friend, Moniece."
"It's nice to meet you," I put on a fake smile, giving her a hug.
"So, we've been seeing each other for some time now and I wanted her to meet the most important person in my life," My pops stated. This really took me by surprise, I know my moms didn't recently pass away but I ain't expect him to move on this fast when him and my mom had been married for years. But, I'm not the one to talk about any one's relationship when I can barely keep one myself. "I thought you guys would get along well."
I nodded my head. "It's great to meet the person my pops been spending all his time with."
My father couldn't get what I was hinting. This man wasn't in my life for shit and he had the nerve to say that I'm the most important person in his life...bull shit. I'm glad he found someone and he's happy but keep me out of all this. I don't care what's going on in his life when he barely cares about mines. He doesn't even know what the fuck I'm going through right now because he ain't never asked. "I'm glad that you could find someone to be here with you when I leave."
"I want you guys to get to know each other because I don't know where things might lead in the future," My pops smiled at her. "How about dinner tonight? We can go to your favorite place, Chris. And you can tell me what's going on in your life. You know I would love to know."
I hated the fact that my father was trying to put on this act in front of his company as if he has ever been invested in knowing about my life. I miss my mother so damn much it's been so hard not being able to talk to her about this shit... she would definitely understand what I'm going through. "Maybe another time pops. I have something to handle tonight."
"Oh come on son, whatever you're doing is not that important," My pops stated, but if only he knew what was happening right now in my life. "You can spend a few hours with your father, that's all I'm asking."
"Why should I spend time with you when you can never do the same for me?" I asked. "I've been going through some shit and not once did you ask what's wrong. So fuck that dinner."
Moniece just stood there in shock. "I'm sorry for how he's behaving. He's too grown to be acting like a damn child." My father shook his head. "I've done all I can for you and the one time I ask you to do something for me, you can't even do that, son. I just wanted you to meet the person that I'm planning on marrying."
