Chapter Thirty-Two.

I WOKE UP from restless sleep due to my waking up which seemed like every hour. I scoffed, rolling over in my sheets as the sunlight blinded me. Slowly but surely, I pushed myself out of bed, letting my feet hit the cool, wooded floor.

I walked out of my room and towards the kitchen to see my father's girlfriend in the kitchen cooking breakfast. "Oh, I didn't see you there," Moniece lifted her head from out of the cabinet and sat the skillet onto the stovetop. "Good-morning, Chris. Did you sleep well?"

"Good morning, Moniece," I smiled. "I slept alright, I kept waking up so I didn't get as much rest as I wanted too."

"I understand that feeling," She said. "Are you hungry? I could make you something real quick if you don't mind waiting."

"Nah, it's okay," I said. "I don't mind cooking for myself, I'm straight."

"You know I don't mind," Moniece responded as she poured her whisked eggs into the skillet. "I'm already making something for your father and I'll feel bad if you don't eat as well, so let me just do this for you."

I nodded my head before grabbing a bottle of water and making my way towards the living room area. I had so much shit on my mind---maybe that's why I couldn't sleep that well. If it ain't my father then its something completely different that's throwing me off track. And, as bad as I want to forget about Priya...I can't. I still believe that we should go our separate ways but sometimes I just miss talking to her. She understood me and that's why I enjoyed her company---but I always seem to fuck things up.

I pulled my phone out of my sweatpants and skimmed through missed calls and messages. It surprised me when I saw a text message from Yasmine. I ain't talked to her since I broke things off at the Cafe. I opened it:

"Hey, Christopher, it's been a long time since we talked. We should catch up sometime. Maybe over lunch?"

I didn't know if I should respond or just ignore the message and go on about my day because I didn't end things the best way with her so I don't know what the fuck we gotta catch up on. Before I could text back, I was getting an incoming call from Yasmine---ain't this bout a bitch.

"Hey, Christopher...how are you?"

"Wassup with you?" I asked. "Why are you calling me?"

"I just missed talking to you, friend," Yasmine stated. "I don't like how we left things. I thought our relationship was way different for us to just leave things how we left them."

"I agree," I stated. "I do apologize for how I ended things, I did seem like an asshole and I apologize for that."

"I must admit I was a bitch back then," Yasmine chuckled. "I do miss talking to you though, everybody misses you. You stopped coming around after we broke up."
