I remember

*1 week later*

I woke up with a pounding in my head, an unusual pounding. I shrugged it off and took some pain medicine the doctor prescribed me. I haven't talked to Brooke and Leslee for a few days. We have all been so tired from the time difference. Sleeping in several hours past the normal wake up time.

It was Tuesday, and everybody was gone. The gang was at school, dad was at work, and I was home alone. I made myself a bowl of Marshmallow Maytes, and they are so much better than Lucky Charms, let me tell you that. I turned on the TV, went to Amazon Prime, and continued with Teen Wolf.

-

After ten hours of fighting, sexiness, and mystery, the pounding in my head was getting worse. Not only that, but I had a fever, dizziness, and I felt like throwing up. I picked up my phone, and dialed for my dad. No answer. Brooke, no answer. Everybody, but no answer. Damn it. I tried Jake again, and he picked up on the third ring.

"Hey babe, is everything okay?" I couldn't speak for a moment, but I got my breath back.

"I need to go to the hospital. Could you pick me up? No, let me rephrase that, pick me up now."

Jake responded immediately with a 'I'm on my way' and hung up.

I turned off the TV, and crawled onto all fours. I was shaking, barely moved. My arms gave up and I collapsed. I laid there, until the door opened. Everything got blurry, and faded out.

-

I woke up with nurses surrounding me. Machines beeping. I gasped for air, but no success. I struggled for about thirty seconds as nurses helped me breathe.

The pounding was just worse. I was finally stable. I was breathing on my own.

"What's going on?" I asked one of the nurses. They were incredibly sweet.

"Your tumor grew over time. It's pushing on your brain." A blonde nurse answered. I stared and gaped. I looked down, and tears took over my eyes.

I was dying. Slowly, and painfully. Jake came bursting in, with tears in his eyes.

He walked over slowly, tears streaming down his cheeks. He knelt down on a knee, to stooped down to my level.

"Baby. Just know, I love you. Till the end." He got up, and embraced me as hard as possible.

Ethan's POV

I was doing math homework, it was Tuesday night. Kelly and I got into a huge fight. All because I didn't sit with her at lunch today. Wow, girls. So much work.

Half way done with the last page, my phone was buzzing like crazy. I checked it, and the caller ID read 'Kelly'. I answered it, big mistake.

"Ethan! Why do you think I'm mad?" She was so pissed. Goodness gracious.

"Because I didn't sit with you at lunch." I rolled my eyes, she couldn't see it so I was safe. But a scenario was popping in my head.

"Why didn't you sit with me?" Those words. Where were they from?

"Ethan! Come sit with me!" A girl screeched. She had blonde hair like Kelly, she looked like Kelly. Must be Kelly.

Wait, rewind.

"Hello! I'm Ethan! And I'm cute!"

"I'm McKenna."

I remember, I remember her. The girl who was once my best friend.

"Ethan!" Kelly snapped, "look I'm sorry."

"Where's McKenna?" I blurted. I needed to find her, tell her that I remembered her.

"I don't know, ask her prissy little clique."

"Shut up, I'm breaking up with you. It's through." And I hung up before she could throw a fit.
