Losing my other half

The Crash

McKenna's POV

"DAD! DAD!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. My dad came racing down the stairs like a freaking race car. I never scream like that so he knew something was up.

I looked at the television and I melted down to the ground. Nothing meant anything anymore. I just put on leggings and a t-shirt and ran to the hospital. Ethan was in a serious car crash. On the news his car was nothing. Just a scrap of metal and fabric.

I ran to the hospital near by which was only 2 miles away. My feet were kind of bloody from the road. My dad was right behind my in his car. He insisted I get in but I needed to see Ethan. My dad went to go pick up Mister and Miss Klein and I ran like there was no tomorrow.

I finally got there with my feet trailing in blood. The nurses and doctors held me back as I ran.

"I NEED TO SEE HIM!" I screamed

"Calm down calm down. Who is 'him'?"

"Ethan. He just came in from a car crash I need to see him!"

"Honey he is barley breathing give him space. He might not even make it. Severe brain damage we know of. But he might not make it.

I stopped struggling to get out from their grasp of me but they must join a gym they're so strong.

Ethan went straight to surgery. The nurse, Miss Lily I called her, cleaned up my foot and bandaged it. After the 10 minutes, my dad and Ethan's parents showed up. I stood up and hugged Ethan's parents. I cried on their shoulders, they cried on mine.

"Ethan is gonna be in the surgery room for a while" Miss Lily said softly trying to get our attention. I turned my head to face Miss Lily. She saw my red and puffy eyes from crying an she hugged me tight.

"Everything is going to be fine hun. He is going to live and you should know that." She held my shoulders and looked at me, "be optimistic, sweetie."

I smiled and thanked her then sat down in the chair, curled up, and just sat there and stared at the floor. I heard a voice from behind me and I turned to see my dad behind my chair.

"Honey I have some type of good news"

"Is Ethan okay?"

"We don't know but-"

I interrupted him by saying, "then I don't care"

"They have BBC. Doctor Who is on"

I had a smile on my face from ear to ear. I got up and raced to the room with TV. The 50th anniversary was just starting. I looked at the time and it was 12. Miss Lily joined me with her little purse and some candy.

"Do you like mini M&Ms?"

"Yeah"

She gave me a couple of those containers with them. I smiled and thanked her. Next thing I knew I started to drift off at 1:30. I was asleep for about 2 minutes when someone burst though the doors. I lifted my head and Miss Lily shot up and went to go handle it.

I rubbed my eyes and saw who the girl was: Kelly. What the hell was she doing here?! What? I shot out from my seat and went face to face with Kelly.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I yelled

"Calm down McKenzie"

"McKenna. It is McKenna, Kelly"

"McKenna what ever"

"What are you doing here?!?" I repeated stronger than last time.

"I'm here to see Ethan. My boyfriend"

My jaw dropped to the floor. He wasn't her fucking boyfriend! What's going on? He was my best friend and he wasn't anyone's boyfriend. I couldn't believe I just heard.

"What are you doing bitch? Got a little problem?"

"You aren't his girlfriend Kelly."

"No, but I'll make him think I am"

I melted inside like butter. I knew she's had a crush on him forever. She's been making me look bad and get hurt so he could take my place. Now was her chance I guess. But he's going to remember I know.
