Ethan's POV
I scrolled through my contacts, seeing if anyone knew McKenna and where she might be. I saw Jake's contact, he used to be on my football team but I didn't remember him. But everything came back to me all at once.
I immediately pressed his name, and waited for the phone to dial. One ring, two ring, three ring, four, and he picks up. Crying. He was crying, that means something was up.
"Hey yo bro it's Ethan. I need to know where McKenna is." Jake was silent. Sniffles came from the background along with loud sobbing.
"She's in the hospital. She's dying Ethan."
Those words stabbed me as hard as it stabbed anyone else. I hung up and raced to find my car keys.
"Aha." I found them after a couple minutes of searching. I hopped into my car an zoomed off towards the hospital.
McKenna's POV
Everyone was surrounding me, crying. To be honest I wasn't afraid to die. We are all side effects to dying, so why be afraid of it? All I could think about was Ethan, and how he didn't know what was going on. That he didn't know I was dying.
I shrugged it off with only a couple tears escaping. But I told no one that I was crying because of Ethan. Then I heard a huge commotion.
"I need to see her!" A guy said. It was a familiar voice. Ethan. Ethan came back.
"Hey, uh guys? Could I have some alone time maybe?" Jake, Brooke, and Leslee all left with sad expressions. And Ethan came bursting into the room.
"I remember. McKenna Walker I remember you as my best friend." Tears came forward as Ethan wrapped me in his arms.
"I'm sorry I forgot. I'm sorry for Kelly I'm sorry for everything." Ethan started crying as well. We were both crying with a mixture of joy and forgiveness. I nodded my head to show that I forgave him.
All of a sudden, my breath hitched. I couldn't breathe. I struggled for air as Ethan called for help.
"HELP! HELP! SOMEBODY HELP!" He yelled.
No one's POV
McKenna gasped for air as nurses rushed in. But they weren't fast enough to save her. The line on the machine went flat. No more life in her. McKenna Walker, was pronounced dead thirty minutes later.
