As Peridot's feet hit the concrete, people began to walk out of the school. Peridot slowed down dramatically to get to normal human speed.

"Ugh," she said, sticking her tongue out. "I hate going so slow."

I smiled a little as we got closer to her car. She jumped to the side of the car and threw the door open, stuffing me inside. I was shoved inside too quickly to have a reaction. Peridot got herself into the car faster than she threw me in.

"This is an emergency," she said. "Now we really know what's up."

"They were so powerful..." I whispered.

An image appeared in my brain. I gasped.

"They were the two vampires Royal Blue saw in her vision!" I cried.

Peridot nodded. "And the decision Royal Blue saw definitely stayed. Topaz sent them to get you, didn't she?" She asked.

"Yeah," I answered. "How you'd know?"

"I was walking through the halls, and I smelled them. Vampire," Peridot said. "Then I smelled you. I followed the trails and found that they both led the same way. That's when I figured out that you were being followed."

"And you followed us all the way into the forest?" I asked.

"Yep," Peridot replied.

She turned on the car's ignition and drove away from the school. As usual, I looked out the window. I could hear Peridot snarling. She was angry. Very angry. Though, I could tell, she didn't want to admit it, she was terrified. I could see it in her eyes. They were racing around. Looking at the road, at her hands, at me. I took one of her hands off of the steering wheel and held it tightly, hoping to calm her. Her eyes stopped racing around, and she focused on me.

"It'll be okay," I whispered. "I know you'll make it okay."

Peridot's cheeks flushed with pink.

"I just don't want something to happen to you," she replied. "This isn't going to be as easy as we thought it was. Topaz has created vampires with powers. Her army is going to be a lot more advanced than Jasper's."

"Then we have to stick together, right?" I asked.

"Right," Peridot replied.

"I saw you take down those vampires back there. I'm sure we'll be fine," I said.

"Yeah, but did you see how hard it was for me to do that?" Peridot asked.

"You were outnumbered," I replied. "That does kinda make things a bit harder."

Peridot nodded. "I guess," she said.

We pulled into the driveway, and Peridot parked the car. We both got out of the car and walked into the house, where Yellow was waiting.

"Mom," Peridot said. "Emergency."

"What do you mean?" Yellow asked.

"Topaz is back with an army," Peridot answered. "She has vampires with powers."

"Powers?!" Yellow cried.

"Yeah," Peridot replied. "Topaz found a vampire with sound power. Pretty annoying. She was creating really high and really low frequencies."

"I'm just glad you two got out alive," Yellow said. "Where did you find them anyway?"

"Two of them chased Lapis out so Topaz had her in her clutches," Peridot answered. "I caught the scent and followed them into the forest."

"We need the werewolves," Yellow said.

Peridot nodded. "Yes, we need the werewolves," she replied. "There's only one way we're getting out of this hell, and that's with every arm and leg we have here."
