I was sleeping in Peridot's arms. I was exhausted. I had been so worried about both her and my own life that I hadn't slept much. Despite how good it felt to be sleeping, it wasn't enough to help me. I was in the middle of a dream. It was a nightmare. I saw everything that had happened while I was at Topaz's. Once again, she had tried to kill me, and once again, just to my luck, there had been an interruption. Multiple interruptions. I had no idea how I was still alive. I should have been killed.

Four figures appeared in my dream. Hypersthene. Dioptase. Tanzanite. Serpentine. They were vampires I had met while I was captured. They were all out for me. Topaz was there with them. They were so powerful. There was nothing I could do to stop them. I was scared that there was nothing Peridot could do to stop them. Topaz reached in for me, and I screamed.

I was screaming in real life as well. My eyes snapped open, and I clung to Peridot. Tears were pouring down my face. Peridot held me close and kissed my head.

"It's okay," she said. "You're here. You're with me."

"Peridot," I sobbed.

"Yes?" Peridot replied.

"I'm scared," I said. "I'm so scared..."

"It's okay," Peridot whispered. "You just had a bad dream. You're alright."

I shook my head. "No, I'm not alright," I sobbed.

"What do you mean?" Peridot asked. "They didn't hurt you, did they?!"

"No, no," I answered. "I'm sorry...I'm just terrified."

"You're with me now. Topaz can't get you," Peridot said.

"How did you find me?" I asked. "S-Serpentine took my place! Why did you come for me?"

"Serpentine?" Peridot asked. "She's the vampire that transformed into you?!"

"Yeah," I replied. "But how did you find me? How did you know?"

"She wasn't right," Peridot answered. "She wasn't like you. She was cold, she was too strong, and she didn't kiss right."

I smiled and giggled. "She didn't kiss right?" I asked.

"Stars, I missed that laugh," Peridot murmured. "But yeah, she didn't."

"You really know every detail about me," I whispered.

"Of course I do," Peridot replied. "You're my imprint. I pay more attention to you than I do to everyone else."

She ran her fingers through my hair. I looked down at her bed, smiling. I could feel myself blushing. Peridot looked at me, and I looked at her.

"You're beautiful," she said. "You know that?"

"You say that a lot," I replied.

"Because I mean it," Peridot said.

I blushed more. I couldn't help staring at her. Her green eyes sparkled when the sunlight hit them. She was beautiful. Here she was, calling me that.

"Serpentine, you said?" She asked.

"Yeah," I replied. "Did you..." I looked around. "Kill her?"

"According to the wolves, they came to take care of her by order of my mom, but she got up and managed to escape them," Peridot answered.

"So she's still out there?" I asked.

"Apparently," Peridot answered.

"Oh no," I whispered. "She can shapeshift into anything! I watched her turn into me right in front of my eyes!"
