I walk out of Bob's apartment with Mady's ring in my hand. I went back to my apartment and put the ring in the box that I bought it to go into.
  It's 11:00 now so I have 8 hours to get everything ready. 1st thing, flowers and chocolates cause we love a cliche.
  I head to Ralph's and find just what I need. Then I head to Dunkin and grab Mady her favorite drink, Carmel iced coffee with almond milk.
  I take the flowers and everything home. I put the flowers in a vase and the chocolates and coffee in the fridge.
  Now I need a nicer outfit. I head to the Grove and start shopping. Once I have found the outfit I head to Michael's looking for loose rose petals, light up candles and fairy lights.
  After at least an hour and a half I found everything I needed. I went back home and started to set everything up.
  By time everything is done it's 5:00. I still have two hours. I decide to take a shower and freshen. I feel an extra hop to my step, she just makes me so happy. I walk in my room and almost trip on something. I look down and I see Iowa. I squat down and play with him a few moments.
"I know you miss mommy don't you? Well guess what? After tonight mommy will probably be over a lot more" I rub his head one more time and go take a shower.
By time I get out and am all ready it's 6:50. I sit down on the couch and feel the nerves start to build up. I put Iowa in his cage in my room because I have all my stuff set out for Mady.
Suddenly I hear a knock at the door and feel my heart start to race. I yell come in and stand up at the end of the petal path with the ring in my back pocket and the flowers, coffee and chocolate in hand.
I see the door open and Mady looks down in awe, then looks back up to me and starts walking towards me. When she reaches me she hugs me. I hug her back and when she goes to kiss me I tell her to wait a second. I handed her the coffee and chocolates and sit down the flowers on the coffee table. I get down on one knee and Mady looks like she almost had a heart attack.
"Kian..."
"It's not that Mady"
"Oh"
"At least not yet", after I said this she looked at me with the sweetest eyes ever.
"Madelynn I have known you since we were 14. We have always been each other's best friend and honestly I don't know what I would do without you. Well until I lost you 3 years ago and figured out what it was like. And honestly, it wasn't the best. The hardest part was loosing our baby. It was one of the hardest things we have gone through and the fact that we made it through that mostly is a big sign." I pause and look up at Mady and she's crying. I grab her hand to comfort her and continue, "Mady I love you more than anything and you know that. You know me better than anyone and me even more so to you. We have gone through thick and thin together. So I have 1 question for you today. And that is will you take this ring, and let it hold a place for an even more important ring in the future, will you be my girlfriend?"
  She looks at me and starts to sob happy tears and I stand up to hug her.
  "Oh Kian I love you so much"
  "I love you too mads"
  "And yes I would love to be your girlfriend"
  I grab her hand and pull the ring out of my back pocket and open it and place the ring on her finger. She looks at it for a second and then looks up at me.
  "Kian is this the promise ring from like years ago?"
  "Yes it is"
"Oh baby that's so sweet"
  I pull her in for a kiss and then we sit down in the couch and watch "The Bachelorette" together. She eventually fell asleep on my lap. I woke her up and took her to my room, so she could change into some comfier clothes then climbed into bed. Not too long after she joined me and I wrapped my arms around her tight. I'll be messed up if anyone thinks that I'm letting her go again. I really do love her more than anything and I hate seeing her hurt and crying especially when I'm the cause. As long as I can control it, I will not hurt Mady. I can't loose her again.
