*home in Iowa*
  Mady's POV
I look at the house and almost explode with excitement.
  "K COULD YOU BE ANY SLOWER?!"
  "I mean I could, would you like me too?"
  "Uggh" I roll my eyes and flip him off. I walk up to the door and knock 3 times.
  Inside I hear my mom yell "ONE SECOND"
I can smell whatever she is making from out here and it smells delicious. The door opens and mom takes a second then breaks down into tears.
  "Aw baby I missed you so much"
I pull her in for a tight hug. "I've missed you so much more momma"
We stood there for a second then I felt her pull away from me and gasp. I guess Kian eventually sped up.
  "Aw Kian I didn't now you were coming too sweetie, oh it's been forever"
  I turn around to see Kian staring at me with a help me face on. My mother was squeezing the breath out of him. I tap my mom and she lets go of him and looks at me with a face asking why.
"Momma you were squeezing the breath outta him"
"Oh I'm so sorry sweetie," she sets a hand on Kian's shoulder and laughs a little.
We walk inside the house and Kian and I get settled into my old room. When we walk in, there are pictures of Kian and I during high school everywhere. I look around and blush, instantly looking down.
"A bit obsessed Mads?"
I turn around and playfully smack his arm.
"We broke up 3 weeks before the end of our senior year, I was in a long grieving process and didn't take down the photos, then over the summer we were mostly in Cali trying to find a living arrangement and all that for college in the fall, or lack there of in California."

Kian's POV
  I look at Mady and just shake my head in fake disbelief. She giggled and we went back downstairs. We ran into her brother and I decided to go outside with him and throw around the football. Mady stayed inside with her mom to help with dinner.

Mady's POV
  "So, what's goin on between you and Kian?" my mom asks as soon as Kian walks outside.
"Probably nothing, I like him, like really like him. I'm afraid I may be falling in love momma," I say this and she looks at me like I was a foolish child.
  "Sweets, the way he looks at you, he looks like he is already in love with you."
  "I don't think so"
"If anything happens between the two of you, I am the first to know, okay?"
"Okay momma"

Kian's POV
"Are you dating Mady?" It takes me a few seconds to register this, then I finally realize it was Mady's brother Tyler that asked.
"No.."
"Do you want to"
"I mean...I don't know"
"I think you do"
"Okay..."
We toss around the football for about an hour before Mady steps out to tell us dinner is ready.
She holds the door open and I make sure I am the last person to come in. I pull Mady outside and close the door. I lock our hands together down low and pull her closer to me.
"Hi Kian"
"Hi Mads"
"So I've been thinking..."
"I've probably been thinking the same thing as you, but can we not say it right now. Just kiss me on the cheek and we can go inside and secretly hold hands under the table"
She giggles and agrees and kisses me on the cheek. I put my hand up to her cheeks to cool them down because they were burning red. I put my hands down and they were back to normal color.
We walk inside and sit down at the table. Dinner was really good, the girls made pasta and salad and apple pie for dessert. After we ate, we were all stuffed, Mady and I walked around the neighborhood that she grew up in.
  Somehow we made it to a park in the area and played like 10 year olds that night. We found a slide that had to slides to it and decided to race. The whole night I kept looking at Mady. You could see in her eyes that she was remembering everything that she did as a child in this place. She looked so happy. It was adorable.

*5 days later*
  I woke up this morning in my own bed.  I hopped out of bed, remembering what I had planned for today.
I went to my closet and pulled down a box from the top of my closet.
I search through it, not finding what I want. I groan and pull down another box. 5 boxes later I still couldn't find what I was looking for. I plop myself on my bed and groan even louder.
"You might want to be more quiet, you're going to wake your neighbors"
I look over and see Mady and smile. I stand up and walk over to her. I grab her hands and kiss her on the cheek.
"Hi baby"
"Hi"
  I walk back over to my bed and fix the boxes and start taking them back to my closet. Mady grabs one and follows me to the closet.
  "Kian?"
"Yes hun"
"What here you looking for?"
"Nothing important"
"Oh..okay"
She looked defeated but continued talking as I took the box from her.
  "A couple friends from Iowa are coming into town so I am going to go out with them today. I will be back tonight though"
  Okay well if she gets back by at least 8 that's fine, then she might still be in mood for dessert.
  "I will be back by at least 7:00"
"Okay, have fun babe, not too much" I wink at her and send her into a fit of giggles, her cheeks turn cherry red and she covers them. I walk over to her and kiss her forehead and she hugs me. I walk her out to her car and hug her once more before she gets in.
Once she pulls out I head upstairs to Bobby's apartment. When he opens the door I tell him what I'm looking for.
  "Kian I should've been the first person you came to, when you guys broke up, you have her ring to me to keep yourself from moping around looking at it"
