Throughout the flight I wrote. I wrote everything I felt and by the end of the flight I had written a whole song, say.

We got to the hospital and quickly ran inside. We saw August's parents and had a group hug. They showed me to the room and I saw August's lifeless body connecting to so many chords and needles.

I walked over to her and laid down next to her. Intertwining our fingers. Everyone had left. I've been sitting here for three hours but the last thing I was going to do was leave. I've been singing to her for the past hour and I decide to start singing say.

Halfway through I felt August's fingers move. Her eyes open and my face lights up. She smiles and then closes her eyes again.

"Rest my princess, you're beautiful and your life is precious, I love you."

I begin singing again and I see a single tear fall down August's face. I whip it away with my thumb

"Shhh you're okay, I'm here now and I'm not going to let anything happen to you."
