SHAYARIS ARE NOT MY LINES....
There was no looking back for Adi, she had started getting orders for cakes on various occasions. The money that she earned from Yoga and tuitions were enough for them to meet their monthly expenses and the extra money that she got from her orders was saved for Shlok’s surprise birthday gift which was just 1 month down the line. She wanted to make the day special, in fact very special for him, the way he had made her day by giving her beautiful surprises.

One morning Adi got up with severe head and body ache and feeling feverish too. She tried getting up, but just couldn’t. She didn’t want to bother Shlok cz he used to study till late as his final exams were declared in Jun. She somehow got up and looked out for disprin but couldn’t find one. She dropped a message on her whatsapp yoga group that she won’t be able to conduct today’s session as she was unwell. After that she just lied on bed and drifted to sleep.
Shlok moved in his sleep and noticed that Adi was by his side. He checked the time, it was 7.30am. He wondered how come she was still sleeping. He tried waking her up by tapping her cheek which was burning with fever. He jumped out of the bed and hunted for thermometer which he couldn’t find. He then called Sakshi and informed her about Adi’s health and asked her if she had a thermometer.
Sakshi who was leaving for Nashik for 3days for an engagement ceremony of her cousin asked Milind to go and give the thermometer to Shlok. Shlok was tensed as the temperature had touched 103.
Shlok kept cold water damp cloth on her forehead. Meanshile Sakshi called up Dr. Salve to check on Adi. She and Milind delayed their journey by an hour and were by their side till Adi felt a little better after having the medicine and upma prepared by Sakshi.
Doctor advised a complete bed rest to Adi as he assumed it to be a viral fever which lasted for at least 3 to 5days. He asked Shlok to keep monitoring her temperature and if it persists, then get a blood check done by next morning.
Sakshi decided to cancel her trip, as she knew Shlok will not be able to manage all alone. But they both insisted her to leave and Shlok assured her that he will take good care of Adi.
Shlok: Now till the time you are completely alright, you are not doing anything. No yoga, no tuitions and no household work.
Adi: Shlok, yoga is ok, I have already informed them for today and will inform for rest of the days too. But then final exams are nearing, I just can’t afford to miss out on a single class.
Shlok sternly advised her to rest for an entire week which she just couldn’t agree.
Shlok: ok, I will take care of the tuitions.
Adi tried getting up. Shlok helped her sit while resting her back on the pillow. ‘Aap kaise manage karenge Shlok? You have your college too’.
Shlok: I am not leaving you alone for a single second Adi and that’s clear. Till the time you are perfectly alright, I am not going anywhere. Sakshi Di also not around. Kuch ho gaya to whom will you call? And during lectures, my cell is on silent mode. What if some urgency crops up.
Adi: But Shlok…
Shlok didn’t let her speak, ‘I don’t want to discuss further. Let the kids come at their regular time, maths and science I can manage. Haan Hindi hume aap jaisi saaf nahi aati. Wo aap hi continue karna baad me’.
Adi laughed when he spoke animatedly.
Sakshi had left, but she had requested her maid to take care of Adi’s work for a week at least.
Shlok very efficiently managed the tuitions, in fact he was too good with teaching which he himself had no idea of.
Adi sat on the baithak and observed him.
Shlok saw her ogling at him, he saw the kids were busy, he winked at Adi and gave her a flying kiss.
Adi looked around if the kids had seen his action, but all were involved, and she too blew a flying kiss to him.
