8 years later…..
Sumi was running around a 2.5year-old AdiSh who was giving a tough time to his grandmom. Baa and Ketu were sitting on the sofa and watching the fun.
Bakuben caught hold of him and said, ‘Bas thai gayu Jr. Shlokbhai, dadi ne ketlu heran karis? Tari mumma ne khabar padse to tane barabar karse’. (Enuf mini Shlok, if your mom comes to know you are giving a tough time to your granny, u will have a tought time)
AdiSh heard his mom’s name and kept glaring at Bakuben.
Baa: A Bakudi, su karva darave che mara vala ne? (Why are you scaring my beloved)
He freed himself from Bakuben and ran in Baa’s arms and hid his face on her lap.
The elders in the house had spoilt him rotten, but one look of Adi would scare him to hell. She had inculcated the best of habits in AdiSh. Though he was a notorious kid and a bit tenacious, but he respected the elders just like his Mom. When he spoke in Hindi, he sounded like Adi. Though he was more fluent in Gujrati as rest of the members spoke to him in Gujrati, he spoke Hindi too just like his Mom. By now, Adi too spoke fluent Gujrati.
Sumi took him in his arms and said, ‘Bahut masti karne laga hai ye ladka. Ruk abhi teri mummy ko aane de’.
AdiSh kept a finger on his lips and said, ‘No no dadi, no…Hum abhi masti nahi karenge. Sorry dadi’.
Sumi lovingly hugged him and said, ‘Mera pyara bacha, bilkul meri Adi pe gaya hai. Chal have jami le’. (Come let’s have food now)
She asked Baku to get his food. He sat quietly on the dining table and Sumi fed him.
Baa: Ketu, jara Adi ne phone to lagav. Haji sudhi aavi nathi. (Just call and check on Adi, she is still not back)
Ketu: Office ma aaje meeting hati Baa, etle late thai gai hase. Hu call karu chu ene. (There was a meeting in office Baa, maybe that’s why she got late. Will call and check on her)
Since Ketu was not keeping well, Adi had taken over their family business as Shlok never showed any interest in it. Adi gave up everything and took over the responsibility and relieved Ketu. He used to attend office only for meetings and special delegations.
Adi continued with her Yoga classes from 6-8am as always cz that kept her fit and fresh the entire day. She used to do some household work helping Bakuben and leave for office by 11. She usually used to be back home latest by 7 cz she needed to spend time with AdiSh as well.
She came home completely exhausted at 8.00 that day, freshened up, had her food and chatted with AdiSh for some time which was a stress buster for her.
Adi: Beta, aapne khana khaya?
AdiSh: Ji Mumma.
Adi: Sabko pareshan to nahi kiya?
AdiSh looked around for Bakuben who was standing in a corner and smiling.
He then looked at Adi and nodded his head and said, ‘thoda thoda’.
Adi: Acha!! Hum Bakuben se puchein?
He looked at Baa for help.
Baa said, ‘Su karva CID ni jem sawal jawab kare che Adi?’ (why are u questioning him like CID)
Baa extended her hand towards him and said, ‘Aavi ja mari pase mara dikra’. (Come to me my son)
AdiSh looked at Baa, and then at Adi. He was confused what to do. He asked, ‘Adi Baa paas jaye Mumma?’
Adi smiled and said, ‘Baa have neenu karse beta, tu pan chal ane neenu kari le’. (Baa will sleep now, you too come, I will put you to sleep)
He went to each of the elders, folded his hands and said, ‘Jai Shri Krishna, good night, sweet dreams, giving a peck on their cheeks and went to his room with Adi.
She put him to sleep by 9.00 and sat with her family. Later she spent some time with Ketu updating him of the office activities and meetings. She then went to her house to sleep, bidding good night to everyone, leaving AdiSh with his grandparents.
They had shifted to her in-laws’s place as soon as she got to know of her pregnancy on Baa and Sumi’s insistence. Though Shlok was still reluctant to move, but eventually he had to give up cz he was not able to give enough time to Adi.
